NOTW XXXIX: Impending Retribution Game Thread

Today's evidence is too strong Takhisis; Camikaze to death
Yes, and in doing so we allow the scum to hide by just jumping on the bandwagon. My vote on Ekolite'll remain for pressure, little that it does though.

Where's Duke Blackstone with his important evidence?
So you're all going on the word of something with a history of false positives. Right. I don't know what I can do to explain rhawn's result, other than to refute it. Interesting how people think I'm the killer when Zack had the silenced pistol. It seems pretty obvious to me that either Earthling is guilty or the rogues were attempting to frame both Earthling and myself by trying to kill off rhawn and it backfired on them. I think we should let our doctor Seon have the pistol.
So scummy that you're not funny.
Frozen- the Electrical Room is damaged. You don't need a key to fix anything.
It's still damaged? Bad.
Let's try and make things more even in the execution vote. CCRunner should hang!
Scumful much? same goes for you as for Ekolite.
I would like more talk from Camikaze. That was not a good defense.
Another scumful post for nothing else than jumping on the bandwagon.

Well, my goose appears to be cooked.

I find it odd that the town has not gone after saboteurs like BSmith though. Given the state of the ship, you'd think they'd want to go after them a bit more. Strikes me that they must have someone fairly active deflecting attention. Related, I personally find the fact that CCRunner's quest for the nuclear codes is being taken seriously to be absolutely hilarious.

Oh, and BTW, anyone interested in the nuclear launch key would do well to contact me (but you better do it ASAP) ;).

"Yeah well all the pirate rum, and Dr. Seon's experimental drugs, and the damage to the sleeping quarters causing more psychological problems, it's been a hit to our Sanity. "

My victory condition now is only to see that enough bodies are tossed overboard to feed the Kraken. We need to have non-exploded, non-autopsied, fresh corpses for that. He still enjoys the taste of you Rogues, folks like CCRunner are just a bit stretchy.

You can give it to me, sweetie. I don't hold grudges. ;)

Thank you for the confession.

Do you have anything to back that up, or is this just a lame attempt to cast suspicion on others in your waning hours?

Journal Entry Number Twenty-Four. 20:00 shipboard time.

We finally got one.

There wasn’t a whole lot of fanfare devoted to stringing up Camikaze. The crew dutifully went about the task of fitting his neck with the noose, all the while enduring jeers and insults from the condemned Rogue. He almost seemed to enjoy the prospect of his impending death. Once the man was prepped for his final plunge, Camikaze unleashed another torrent of verbiage to unnerve the crew.

“Look at you guys! Can’t believe you’re killing me. Pfft. Not like any of you can kill anyone around here. I saw how none of you reacted to johnhughthom’s execution, or Diamondeye’s execution. Oh, by the way, thanks for killing him for us. Sincerely. Awesome move; can’t thank you enough. So now what, we wait until another wave swell tips me over? In case none of you noticed, the ship isn’t moving very fast and the seas are pretty calm. I’ll be here a while. Hell, maybe enough time will pass one of my friends will get me down from here while you’re going around trying to fix the ship. You guys are pathet – ”

Camikazes’s head exploded as a round hit home. The crew looked back in disbelief at rhawn, who was now carrying the Silenced Pistol left by Zack. A small wisp of smoke could be seen exiting the barrel, putting the exclamation point on the event. The crew gave rhawn a silent nod, acknowledging the act and that no one thought any less of him for killing the Rogue.

Spoiler :
Camikaze was a Rogue Agent!

Of course, that wasn’t the only thing that happened during the last few hours. Predictably, the ship had struck yet another mine, this one detonating amidships and damaging the Machine Room. With a good portion of the ship damaged from mines the past day, the repair crews certainly had their work cut out for them tonight.

With two Rogues dead the crew was feeling optimistic the kills were coming to an end, but we couldn’t take their recent string of good luck for granted. There was still much work to be done keeping the ship running and we were still quite a way off from docking in port. This was not the time for complacency.

Journal Entry Number Twenty-Five. 06:00 shipboard time.

There’s certain things a sailor gets used to when aboard for lengthy periods of time. Take the ship’s rocking for instance. Seasoned sailors can tell just by the ship’s rock if something is amiss. The same rhythmic swaying that causes seasickness in some brings comfort to others with the knowledge the ship is traveling on without incident. For instance, drastic course changes are pronounced as the ship leans to one side during the maneuver. Tonight, this chronic sway was disrupted by one long period of nothingness, then resumed back to its usual movements, though with a little more pep behind them…

A small crew ran up to the Bridge to see just what was going on. Upon entry, they were shocked to find every system in the Bridge offline as a result of what looked to be a saboteur-sanctioned event. Most importantly, the Navigation Consoles and Override Subsystems were offline, and the ship’s heading, at least in this location, was unknown. Armed with that lack of knowledge, the team headed downstairs to the Navigation Bridge to see exactly what was up.

Fortunately, the systems in here were all working fine. A glance at the ship’s GPS systems confirmed the thought everyone was thinking: the ship was way, way off course. With the ship’s nuclear reactor running at its emergency settings of 110% power, within three days the ship would be in the heart of insurgent waters where the prospect of capturing the damaged warship was a real possibility. With the Override Subsystems offline from the saboteur damage, turning the ship around was not going to be an easy nor quick task.

Elsewhere, the saboteurs made their presence felt with attacks against the Deck, Intelligence, and Engine Room. Two mines had detonated as well, severely damaging the Pump Room and Armory. In other news, the Engine Room was the scene of another interesting development.

During the night, the compartment had received quite a bit of traffic. At least one person entered the room to do some repair work and had brought the nuclear reactor out of critical condition. A quick glance revealed someone else had painted the compartment a murky shade of red, but further investigation the red pigment did not originate from a paint can. Covering their noses from the stench that now permeated the room, they came across the head of Kennigit. Eerily similar to the attack that obliterated Nictel, it was apparent he had been targeted by another Explosive Charge. Except Kennigit was anything but innocent – in his bunk they found hidden plans to launch a nuclear warhead at Command City and other documents of interest. This provided all of the clues they needed.

Spoiler :
Kennigit was a Rogue Agent!

Lastly, the attention turned to the recently repaired Electrical Room where Renata’s body was found. Surrounding her corpse lay the fragments of a claymore explosive but it would seem the blast did not kill her – in fact, she sported no injuries from the trap weapon. What did kill her was three well-placed bullets in the same fashion that had killed countless others. The Rogues had struck again.

Spoiler :
Renata was innocent.

However, not far away lay the body of Sprig. A single bullet wound to the side of his head marked his demise and it was obvious the shot had instantly killed him. On his person they found a whole bunch of fun items. First, another Silenced Pistol was found in his hand which looked to be recently fired, and if that wasn’t damning enough around his neck they found the stolen Nuclear Launch Key “B”. Without question,

Spoiler :
Sprig was a Rogue Agent!

With four Rogue Agents dead, it could only mean one thing:

Spoiler :
The Rogue Agents have been eliminated!

With the Rogue threat neutralized, attention now turned to fixing the ship and eliminating the saboteurs, which seemed like a daunting task. The ship heading in the wrong direction was no trivial matter either. Despite the small victory achieved last night, they weren’t out of the woods yet.

"Wow"

I still am rather disappointed our late Warrant Officer gave CCRunner the Override codes, and it's obvious he did no repairs and messed with our reactor and our navigation. Well, the saboteurs have thrown us off course and further damaged the ship but at least we can get one. Actually quite surprised about the rogues as I think we all totally didn't expect Kennigit to get blown up, though sprig had it coming.

By the way, everyone, we're also working on getting rid of that foreign agent/so-called "diplomat" on the ship. He's a murderer (killed ATPG) and caused that attack as we all know and could still be up to more. However that situation could continue to be a bit delicate and isn't worth our attention here today, just wanted to let you all know we do have some idea what's going on and with Renata dead, well, she could no longer coordinate something, so anyone who has anything to say come to ME in private.

CPO Robbiecon, what can you tell us about the navigation overrride card? I have to wonder how our course changed without it. rhawn, I think perhaps you should take this pistol as well, although hopefully it won't be necessary. I, Autolycus, will take possession of the nuclear key, though I think it should be less of a concern with the rogues gone. Given the dearth of people in command positions, I think it would probably be best for Captain methos to be given the flak jacket, although I urge him strongly to fill the commander and lieutenant commander positions as soon as possible. Does anyone know what the container does?

Earthling, CCRunner claimed to be able to superpower our reactor, and that's by all accounts what he did. I do agree we should continue to keep an eye on him, but without a reason to believe he is responsible for the course change, I wouldn't condemn him yet.

Sorry to keep jabbering away, but I'd like to suggest myself as a better focus for coordination than Earthling. I was the one responsible for getting the Aegis system online, even if it was too late, which is at least circumstantial evidence of my not being a saboteur. Speaking of which, Duke_Blackstone, I believe it was you who mentioned the motherboard publically. The motherboard that Zack began with and Methos gave to me. How did you know that the motherboard was what was missing from the Aegis?

Holy Cow !!

R.I.P Renata, you will be fondly remembered and I will personally draft a posthumous Navy Cross commendation to be submitted to command.

I'm tired of voting for CCRunner, but maybe this time he'll have an explanation that I can understand.
Also, I have an intuition that our Captain has enough protection as it is... so I wouldn't mind having that Flak Jacket.
Giving yet another pistol to Rhawn would be useless, so Ekolite can have it if he wants it.

I'll take all the items. Many would be distributed to other Innocents anyway, there may be a couple items which could go to folks who could get them before night if they feel they need to step forward.

I'd like to hear a bit from a few folks about last night, like choxorn, not sure if he did repairs or not in this mess. Everyone else but CCRunner seems to have, at any rate, if we hypothetically assume he was Innocent and coincidentally powered up the Reactor at a very bad time (as we're off course), he'd better turn his items back over and plan something else tonight. I fully agree we need an explanation from robbiecon too, he may have seemed anti-rogue but no reason to know he's not a saboteur.
