Nuke Nes: After Victoria

To: Britain
From: UCSA

As per Treaty of Washington, we would like to inquire Britain's justification of this war.

You really need to ask that? Brazil has constantly demanded that we back down and admit defeat against terrorism. Britain will never do this and will fight till the end of the world to uphold our honor and reputation. When Mexico promised to support Texas after Texas rebelled, did you just go, "Ahh no problem, we shall go back home and forget all this."? I think not, and Britain is in the same position.

Actually, the world would be much safer with a strong neutral nation occupying the Panama Canal to protect it from aggressive imperialistic powers (Lowlands & Britain).

We do not trust ourselves to not greedily abuse this power.

So we ask that the UCSA jointly share the Panama Canal with us or another nation as we are, after all, the dominant powers in America.

This is, of course, after we are done kicking the British out.

If you transfer partial control to the Russians we will ensure that a European voice is present to prevent American bias.

OOC: Is everyone conceding that Britain is going to lose the war with Brazil? :wow:

They are pretty evenly matched at the moment. :p

Just for clarification, you won't have to follow the Treaty of Amsterdam anymore.

Very well.

A three way joint ownership of the Panama Canal. A most interesting proposal. We will get back to you on this once we take the Panama Canal.

To: Brazil and Russia
From: UCSA

We believe that creation of separate independent nation of Panama would be a better idea.

I know I was shocked too, but not how shocked Brazil will be when my army shows up. They will be in for the shock of their lives, as our diplomats have been hard at work.

If we are to crush to Somali rebels, would you transfer the last remaining area requested prior to the Treaty of Zomba?

We are not trying to be a pain in the bottom (;)), but if you have any extra nations assisting you, they must issue a formal declaration of war, per the Treaty of Washington. These annoying limitations are why we renounced the Treaty of Washington recently.

They are declaring through Great Britain. They are arriving via British ships, which is not included in the Treaty. They are there only to hold our lands that we conquer so we can devote our entire force to battle the Brazilians. This too is not covered in the Treaty. So already the Treaty is falling apart.

Do not worry. Our diplomats have also been hard at work. Who knows? Maybe London will be gone by the end of this war.

Remember; orders due Thursday

India was formerly your colony. But now it is an independent nation. It has achieved international recognition include three of signees of the Treaty of Washington. (Lowlands, USCA, and Britain) If you attack India, you will be in violation of Thomas Hayne’s fourteen points article 4 and 13

IV. Adequate guarantees given and taken that national armaments will be reduced to the lowest point consistent with domestic safety. This means one thing: No nation should already be prepared for war unless their promise of peace is threatened. And under no circumstances, shall a nation invade another without formal declaration of war.

XIII. All European nations should remove their military presence from nations in Asia and let them govern themselves and may only aid them through economic means. This will be an act of voluntary sacrifice and no Asian countries will be indebted to outside power for this purpose. And furthermore, all recognized nations of the world are to be granted their full rights to exercise sovereignty and their borders not interjected without just cause.

This will put you in direct violation of Article 8 of the Treaty of Washington

8. 14 points by UCSA will be agreed to. (since it pretty much covers everything in this treaty)

To Russia and USCA
From Japan

Your assistance against Communist China was also in violation of Article 4 and 13 of the Thomas Haynes 14 points thus also in violation of Article 8 of the Treaty of Washington

To: USCA, Great Britain and Lowlands.
From Japan

Your refusal to join the League of Nations violates article 14 of the Treaty of Washington.

XIV. A general association of nations must be formed under specific covenants for the purpose of affording mutual guarantees of political independence and territorial integrity to great and small states alike.

This places you in further violation of the Article 8 of the Treaty of Washigton

We hereby renounce our signature on the Treaty of Washington as void as Queen Wilhelmina is no longer our legitimate head of state. We also reject the Treaty of Washington's 14 points as illegal and infringing on a country's rights. However, we still hope that you will assist us in our transition from the parliamentary system to your federalized one.

[

Does this mean Japan can renounce their signature on the Treaty of Washington? It was signed by our now deceased Emperor. We are a completely new nation now.

India is a nation in rebellion, it is not recognized by the Treaty of Washington becuase it failed to outline just how a nation rebelling from their mother country is to be handled. Perhaps they should have mentioned more in depth about this.

Also the reason behind why Great Britain is not in the League of Nations must be directed to James Bedford in the League of Nations thread.

To Great Britain
From: Japan

You may consider India a rebellious colony but the rest of the world including three signees of the Treaty of Washington have formally recognized India’s independence. Thus they would consider any action against India as a violation of India’s sovereignty.

Regarding the League of Nations, we don’t care why you haven’t joined. We just pointed out that if you don’t join, you are in violation of the Treaty of Washington.

To: Japan

Communist China was not clearly a recognized nation by international body, more specifically the Restoration Committee members. Even so, they attacked Imperial China, killing many, while China was only a fledgling country.

Also, the "general association of nations" does not have to be League of Nations.

Lowlands will pay the price for renouncing their responsibility.
