Nuke Nes: After Victoria

Sorry for the double post, but Brazil think that points 4, 5, and 6 were blatantly violated of the "6 points".

And the UCSA violated point 2 itself.

To: Brazil
From: UCSA

Britain CLAIMS that they are not in violation of the treaty via loopholes in the treaty, but let the League be the judge of that.

And UCSA has already informed the Country X about UCSA's dealings with another party. So we do not believe UCSA has violated any yet.

OOC: About an hour ago, I did. via AIM.

From: Brazil
To: UCSA

Then we will wait for the League of Nations punish a "Security Council Member" before we join.

OOC: No need to go with the stupid country X stuff. :p It's obviously the Lowlands.

IC:

From: Lowlands

We condemn the UCSA's backhanded diplomacy against the Lowlands. If the UCSA thinks that we will falter in the face of their bullying, we will not.

Again, we urge every nation to ensure its domestic rights by voiding the old 14 points or the new 6 points of the UCSA. The world wasn't meant to be dominated by three super powers.

OOC: Eh? I thought you cut off all diplomatic ties? :p

IC: The Lowland delegate swears that he saw a letter from some imaginary place called the UCSA.

Then, it has been proven that Lowlands takes advantage of the diplomatic situations to spread lies about another nation. Case closed.

How does these letters coming from the figment of our imagination prove anything? We concede that our imaginary place was trying to blackmail us, but...other than that...

To: The World, UCSA, Russia
From: Germany

Germany will not be joining the League of Nations nor will we be ratifying Haynes' 14 points or 6 points it poses unnecessary limits on nations not to mention signees of these points have not followed through with them so they are ultimately irrelevant.

Germany will dissolve the Authoritarian League as it was created in haste and is ultimately unnecessary.

To: UCSA, Lowlands
From: Germany

We will allow the Lowlands into our alliance and we once again suggest the UCSA stay out of German and our allies foreign policy decisions. We are beginning to get annoyed with your constant requests.

To: Brazil, Britain
From: Germany

We hope your nations can peacefully decide your differences there is no need for war between your nations.

From: Brazil
To: The World

Likewise, we will not join the League of Nations nor ratify Haynes 6 points.

From: Brazil
To: UCSA

We will allow the Lowlands to join our alliance despite your sharp and legitimate complaints.

From: Brazil
To: Great Britain

We are recanting our declaration of war. We will allow the British army to occupy Venezuela without complaint. We apologize for causing the threat of a massive war.

From: Brazil
To: Lowlands

Welcome to our alliance.

Thank you for allowing us to join this most prestigious alliance. :)

We are willing to normalize relations with Washington DC.

Nations Supporting India...

From: Brazil

We officially recognize the Republic of India.

OOC: Okay, you win Germanicus. I can't argue with you there. I still have qualms about my losses. Nuke?

IC:
To: Republic of Vietnam
From: Lowlands

We are withdrawing from Vietnam, effective immediately. However, we plan to maintain hold on Saget for the time being.

To: Republic of India
From: Lowlands

We officially recognize the Republic of India.

OCC:

To: India:
From: Japan

We hereby recognize the independence of India. Welcome to Nationhood!

To: Germany, Lowlands, Sweden and Brazil
From: UCSA

Since Lowlands is one of the nations that signed the Treaty of Washington, we, UCSA, find it fit to ask that rest of you to ratify the treaty as well, or deny Lowlands of its admittance.

To: India
From: UCSA

We are happy to see another democratic nation born into the world. Although we cannot be directly involved with military manners, we will be glad to provide political asylum for important Indians who might feel threatened such as Mr. Gandhi.

To: Britain
From: UCSA

We advise Britain to focus primarily lowering the national dissent with domestic legistlations rather than going after every rebel countries.

To: Japan
From: UCSA

Communist China was not clearly a recognized nation by international body, more specifically the Restoration Committee members. Even so, they attacked Imperial China, killing many, while China was only a fledgling country.

Also, the "general association of nations" does not have to be League of Nations.

Lowlands will pay the price for renouncing their responsibility.

From: Russia
To: Japan

Communist China was not a recognized nation by an international body. It was an area of China under rebellion. Furthermore they engaged in violent acts against Imperial China. Imperial China asked for Russian and UCSA help; we gave it willingly. Now that the threat is gone and there is no more need for our troops, we will be withdrawing from China.

To Russia: USCA
From: Japan

It doesn't matter how you felt, if the Communist were legitimate, or if Imperial China invited you. Article 13 was clearly violated when you interfered. It is up to the Chinese to decide if they will be Communist, Imperial, or Republican. If they want to conduct a long protracted civil war that is their decision. You have clearly tipped the balance in favor of Imperial China.

Japan once again states. Either all points of treaty must be followed by everyone or the treaty becomes invalid.

To: Great Britain
From: Japan

India was formerly your colony. But now it is an independent nation. It has achieved international recognition include three of signees of the Treaty of Washington. (Lowlands, USCA, and Britain) If you attack India, you will be in violation of Thomas Hayne’s fourteen points article 4 and 13

IV. Adequate guarantees given and taken that national armaments will be reduced to the lowest point consistent with domestic safety. This means one thing: No nation should already be prepared for war unless their promise of peace is threatened. And under no circumstances, shall a nation invade another without formal declaration of war.

XIII. All European nations should remove their military presence from nations in Asia and let them govern themselves and may only aid them through economic means. This will be an act of voluntary sacrifice and no Asian countries will be indebted to outside power for this purpose. And furthermore, all recognized nations of the world are to be granted their full rights to exercise sovereignty and their borders not interjected without just cause.

This will put you in direct violation of Article 8 of the Treaty of Washington

8. 14 points by UCSA will be agreed to. (since it pretty much covers everything in this treaty)

To Russia and USCA
From Japan

Your assistance against Communist China was also in violation of Article 4 and 13 of the Thomas Haynes 14 points thus also in violation of Article 8 of the Treaty of Washington

To: USCA, Great Britain and Lowlands.
From Japan

Your refusal to join the League of Nations violates article 14 of the Treaty of Washington.

XIV. A general association of nations must be formed under specific covenants for the purpose of affording mutual guarantees of political independence and territorial integrity to great and small states alike.

This places you in further violation of the Article 8 of the Treaty of Washigton

To: Lowlands
From: Japan

Does this mean Japan can renounce their signature on the Treaty of Washington? It was signed by our now deceased Emperor. We are a completely new nation now.

Well, in the way that you put it, does the Republic of China get any reparations for the betrayal of the Treaty of Washington.

To: Japan
From: Lowlands

The treaty is very invalid and thus should be nulled as there are many flaws in it and as its creators continuously defy the 6 points.

However, like stated before, as the Lowlands have annulled the Treaty of Washington, the state of Japan and the Republic of the Lowlands are currently in a formal state of war.

Are you interested in signing another peace treaty with "no strings attached" or are you content to maintain the status quo?

To: Republican China
From: Republic of Lowlands

Understand this. Your country is at a severe disadvantage to the Empire of China as the UCSA and Russia have chosen to invest heavily there. Believe us, we can already tell you that you won't get reparations.

Republican China's best bet would be to have other nations (like Japan, Great Britain, Brazil, Germany, Sweden, Boer Republic) invest your country to quickly modernize it, lest you falter to the Empress in Beijing.

To: Boer Republic
From: Lowlands

We suggest that you abstain from joining the League of Nations as a full fledged member until the requirement of signing the 6 points as a whole is dropped.

To: Lowlands
From: Boer Republic

Well, we will not be accepted until we ratify the 6 points at any rate, and we have petitioned for the alteration of the offending points 3 and 5, and to a lesser extent 4. If they are not changed, then our nation simply will not be accepted into this league.

1926 Elections in the Boer Republic

BOER2.png

The Boer Republic was greatly expanded and still consolidating when the time came for the 1926 elections. The election was noted for numerous allegations of disenfranchisement in some of the new territories where polling stations were sometimes not set up, or democratic customs were not known to the local voters. However, those that did vote threw a wild card into this election’s results.

The Communist Party (Communistische Partij), still led by Johan Hees, had experienced limited headway due to widespread anti-communist sentiments. It maintains a tenuous hold in Angola, though many believe that it will lose this hold in the upcoming election. It worked to improve its fringe popularity by promising to fight the fascist Spaniards in former Boer regions around the Niger River.

The Liberal Workers' Party (Liberale Werkers Partij), once again under the leadership of Maxwell de Vetten, made a campaign based around consolidation and the improving of living and education standards for the Boer People. Splits are beginning to form between the Socialists and Liberals who make up this organization.

The Union Party (Unie Partij), led by the incumbent Willem van Usteyn, is widely expected to win with an even more significant majority than before. The party has become more open to international interactions, something which has driven some voters to the Nationalists. Other than this, however, Usteyn promises to keep the status quo.

The National Party (Nationale Partij), led by Friedrich Langhoven, has gained popularity. It strongly supported (and some say pressured) the Union Party into its aggressive actions against the South African rebels, and Langhoven is doing his best to take credit for the recent territorial gains. The Nationalists are now calling out for war against Somalia, and the regaining of more Boer territories.
