Nuke Nes: After Victoria

From: Russia
To: The World

In a spirit of solidarity and camaraderie after the Second Great War has been successfully avoided, Russia would like to announce that the nations of Great Britain and the UCSA have agreed to a tech fund with Russia.

May our countries prosper.

As each battleship costs 4 IC, I'm willing to discount them to 3 IC apiece.
But, this comes with a military alliance and one tech share.

We support America's claim to reunify it's country, and in the same vein and due to the current political climate, we are now demanding that Tuscany be reunited with our kingdom, lest they face a terrible war from us.

If you do not respond to our demands within several months, (before update) we shall declare war upon you and take back every square meter of land to recreate the Roman Empire.

Nuke, i INSIST you deny this sale.

We are not omnipresent gods, we are the leaders of these nations, and no nation would support a leader who sells its entire navy!?!?

You can join, if you contribute :p

Leeching is for the weak. Plus, if you were to join, this would favour Britain too much. Yes, we are in the spirit of solidarity, but this arrangement is perfect for the balance of the world. One Commonwealth member who was wronged by Austria, one Noble Alliance member, and one Grand Alliance member. It works out perfectly.

OOC: Plus, 30 doesn't go into 4.

1922 Boer Republic Election Results

BOER.png

As it would turn out, the election was, in various ways, both very surprising and very predictable.

Johan Hees' Communist Party won a stunning victory in the territory of Angola. The many pro-communist Spanish voters focused their votes, while the remainder of the population was divided amongst the other parties.
1 Territory (Angola), 4 Seats (3/4 in Angola, 0/5 in Namibie, 0/6 in Pretoria, 0/12 in Transkasai, 0/6 in Zaire, 1/9 in Zambie)

Maxwell de Vetten, of the Liberal Workers' Party, had a frustrating experience in this election. While popular throughout the Republic, there were few areas where the support was strongly concentrated. He came close to winning in Namibie, but gratefulness to the Union Party, which had been the one to launch the war, undid his chances there. He received roughly a third of the votes in all other territories, with the exception of Angola.
0 Territories, 13 Seats (0/4 in Angola, 2/5 in Namibie, 2/6 in Pretoria, 4/12 in Transkasai, 1/6 in Zaire, 4/9 in Zambie)

Willem van Usteyn's Union Party, despite its controversies, was re-elected with a small majority of support from the populace. It was the most popular party in every territory except for Angola, where Hees' Communists scored their shocking victory.
5 Territories, 22 (1/4 in Angola, 3/5 in Namibie, 3/6 in Pretoria, 7/12 in Transkasai, 4/6 in Zaire, 4/9 in Zambie)

Finally, Friedrich Langhoven's Nationalists made small gains, but failed to make the huge strides predicted. Support is high for them, but not concentrated enough to win in enough areas to be a significant political force.
0 Territories, 3 Seats (0/4 in Angola, 0/5 in Namibie, 1/6 in Pretoria, 1/12 in Transkasai, 1/6 in Zaire, 0/9 in Zambie)

Final Results:
Prime Minister: William van Uysten, Union Party: 22 Seats, 5 Territories
Leader of the Opposition: Maxwell de Vetten, Liberal Workers' Party: 13 Seats
Johan Hees, Communist Party: 4 Seats
Friedrich Langhoven, National Party: 3 Seats

Contributions would go towards a united goal, there is little point if we research different things!!!

Japan has no quarms with Australia joining.

Quarm = Problem

There, Japan has no problems with Australia joining

To: Australia and Japan
From: UCSA

The only united goal this tech fund is trying to promote is amicable relationships between nations through science. So, Australia may join, but due to financial medium difficulties, you can research something else, then share it with the rest of the tech fund group, then we'll share with you as well. My answer, however, is no final since Russia and Britain will have to agree as well. We're merely mentioning the "possible" contribution. Japan can perhaps research something with Australia and share it with us. Perhaps, this can bring us closer in friendship.

? OOC.. What is the point researching different things.. how on earth is that combining?

The idea is we all pledge to place funds into a united slushfund that researches a given tech at a time.

The point is getting through research faster!

To All Research Groups
From Greece

We have noticed that many groups are forming which purpose research sharing. This sounds like a wonderful idea and Greece would like to join any such groups that form. If you will just send us a message with our expected contributions we will get right on with our part of the research.

Japan
To all

Yes, what are the yearly contributions required for entry to the research groups? This is something we have to agree upon before any real agreements can be formed

It should be noted that the position of President, in the Boer Republic, has been phased out. No one will succeed Johannes Brand, and Willem van Uysten is now Prime Minister, both head of state and government.

To: All Those Interested in Research Group
From: UCSA

There can perhaps be an international research group, and as far Britain, UCSA, and Russia's group is concerned, this is it. However, since it is war technologies we are researching, we are sure that Britain and Russia will not let just anyone join this group. Wait for their response, or go make your own.
