Quite interesting.

I'm going to peruse the rules a bit more thoroughly, but this looks promising. You have a "maybe" over here.

If there's anything weird about the rules/unclear please do ask questions.

It's to bad about the previous NES, but good luck with this one!

Cool! I'll be glad to have you and anyone else who wants to join. I added a 'Brief Overview of Ekra Society' in the concepts section in post #2. I'll be refining the flavor/filler gaps slowly but surely. Feel free to ask any questions about the lore.

Edit: Also there is no Guuagziir castle on Bragga's Road, do you mean the Argoosh?

Chalk me up for the other G clan with the castle on the road; I misread last night.

Nefarious?

Something like that.

But if you are nefarious and everybody knew that you are nefarious, what is the point of being nefarious?

This NES takes place around the same time at the last NES. It kicks off about fifty or so years after the mana-storm when magic (I dropped the 'k') is starting to appear and mess things up.

Also, an event of Update 2 will have ~huge~ ramifications in this NES.

edit: Realized I didn't answer you:

By Kore's dating system it begins at 1E55

By Ekra's dating system it begins at 11HK15 (HK = High King, so basically it is the reign of the 11th High King and he is 15 years old).

edit: Added section on the Cult of Many & the Goddess Sect. It's an important one.

Gah now I want to know the fate of my little Swiech even more.

The Cult of Many & the Goddess Sect
The role of religion in this NES is a very important one. The Highborn lords owe their positions to the divine ties that they have to the gods (or goddess). The very first Highborn families were the first priests, or dread-elders, of the Cult of Many. These near-mythic ancestors claimed that they could hear the dark and terrible words of the Many and exerted this spiritual power over those around them, thus forming the first tribes. It is something of a phenomenon, but the Cult of the Many sprang up around all parts of Ekra at more or less the same time. Since then the Cult has been tied intimately to the going-ons of the Highborn world and all high members of the cult are members of various Highborn families. High King Bragga the Bold himself was a dread-elder and claimed that he could not only hear the words of the Many, but that he could see their dark bodies.

The Goddess Sect therefore represents a fairly tremendous break in the social makeup of Ekran society. The High Queen-Mother Callimeldë, mother of High King Baol-Beinion, was said to have experienced similar visions to those of Bragga's. The difference was that she did not see the Many, but a single, female figure. The Goddess Callimeldë saw was just as somber and disturbing as the Many, but what separated her from the old gods was the single commandment she gaev to Callimeldë: go forth and slaughter in my name. Adherants to the Sectist beliefs do just this and the ritual slaughter of innocents is a common practice. Cultists see this as abhorrent, not because they disdain mortal sacrifice—the Many make similar demands—but because the thought of sacrificing to one deity out of the multitudes that make up the Many is just stupid.

Regardless of religious differences the two faiths have gotten on surprisingly well. Most Cultists see the Sectists as wayward fanatics whose devotion is admirable, but misguided; most Sectists see Cultists as ignorant children still suckling on the worn teat of old ways and superstitions. No major holy war has broken out and in fact the two religions share the same holy tenant: cultivate fear for the gods above you.

How likely is it that these "Visions" came at the same time as humans arrived in the world?

How likely is it that these "Visions" came at the same time as humans arrived in the world?

Entirely impossible as the visions and whatnot would have occurred during the "Forgotten Ages" by Kor-Fiol's reckoning. The humans that arrived in Kore arrived at the tail end of the Forgotten Ages, not long before the mana-storm. The visions Bragga saw and the visions experienced by the Queen-Mother happened centuries before.

Nice attempt at linking things though. ;)
