Off Topic reorganization

That should answer most of the questions.

Chances are, we're announcing this at this time as sort of a reverse April's fools. Everyone thinks it is one, and then it's not.

After all, we've already done so many that HAVE been April's fools jokes, doing one that isn't while everyone thinks it is, is probably the better option at this point.

That, and it would be pretty foolish of us to put out something that you guys actually like and then go back on it. ;)
'Chances are'? You're really telling me you don't really know? :rotfl:

Hey, I'm just a mere Super-moderator...it's not like I know things.

I shld also mention there shld be no outright spamming in OT Light. Like numbers posts and the like.

No one wants to post anything like that in the first place...

I guess the point is more that if we enable PC, we disallow spam. If we disable PC, we allow spam. People would seem to like a place to be able to be more spammy, so it makes sense for that area not to have PC enabled. People don't necessarily go on posting sprees simply for the sake of PC (though some people might), but some people do post largely for the PC, or would use a spammy forum as an opportunity to post largely for the PC. It's okay to post for the PC if your post is still a positive contribution (why would it matter why you post if your post is still useful to a thread?), but by us not really caring about spam, we're not really caring about whether or not your post is a positive contribution, which would open up for people to post a whole bunch of non-contributory posts just for the PC. As much as we allowing spam in the new forum, we don't want it to turn into a complete spamfest, and enabling PC encourages that.

Oh right, I forgot one of the key qualities of a moderator is their condescending and disparaging attitude towards OT posters.

Look, we've had
  • tables added
  • the strikethrough button for mafiasters
  • this
Third time's the charm, don'tcha think?

Isn't already April 1 in NZ and England?

You'll be surprised.

A few times, some dude spammed every thread on the entire 1st page and more of some out-of-the-way forum with drivel and I had to go and delete every one of them manually. It wasn't fun.

Since this will be a mod-sanctioned spammier forum, it's probably best to make some things clear at the onset.

Do I need to take this crap from you?

Bolded confirms suspicions.

It is. Almost noon on Apr 1 in Singapore.
Already past midnight here lads!

KD are you pushing for 20,000 tonight?

Mod-sanctioned spam, what this thread about is.

Maybe he is practicing for the new forum.

And would no postcount for those forums have prevented it from happening?

Do I need to take this crap from you?

Removing post count from light hearted threads implicitly says that light hearted threads, and those that contribute to them, are worthless.

Maybe with all this spam, we could just make this OT lite.

The While We Wait thread in the NES forums is pure spam, and it gets you postcount.

Not to mention all the other spammy chatter that goes on in the other NES threads.

Actually, I think PC in general is more worthless than spam.

We could turn off PC in all forums.
