I think I outpost K-D between all my forum accounts, I have a couple other thousand posts in TW forums and many thousands more in Spanish-speakign forums .

Removing post count from light hearted threads implicitly says that light hearted threads, and those that contribute to them, are worthless.

Which doesn't stop Forum Games from going on full speed ahead.

We could turn off PC in all forums.

The While We Wait thread in the NES forums is pure spam, and it gets you postcount.

Not to mention all the other spammy chatter that goes on in the other NES threads.

I mentioned this already, but later on once the two new OTs are more firmly in place, we'll talk about rolling back the other forums into them.

H&J is almost certain to go into OT Light, and Science back into OT Discussions. Not sure about the rest; we'll need to talk about it with the people who post there now. Later. For now, we settle this first.

In that case, good. H&J and A&E have always lacked traffic because they were subforums.

Well it would be a welcome relief to be able to read a thread w/o it being closed for review every time JR let's a few snarky zingers fly that might hurt someones feelings. These are usually the most fun to read and often the most insightful comments in any thread. It will be interesting experiment. I predict OT-Socrates or whatever it is called will have a limited life but if that is what it takes to get moderation back to reasonable level great.

@Joe- I know I've put a helluva lot of effort into some posts in the mafia forum that don't count for PC, but I certainly wouldn't want PC turned on there, as it'd mean there wouldn't be any room for the spammier comments that exist and make up part of the atmosphere. I don't think it devalues the effort I put into those posts to not want spammy posts disallowed in that forum. Same with IOT. If you had PC, you'd get a moderator presence telling you to cut out the spam all the time, which I'm sure wouldn't be particularly welcome. That's like in this new forum. If we enable PC, we disallow spam and that extra freedom you'd have in what to post. Keep in mind that serial threads don't get PC now, anyway, so at least for them, there's not going to be a change.
