Off Topic reorganization

And if more people choose to post more in the chattier, spammier, looser FT, is there a real loss?

Mods can do less work, posters can have more fun posting. Looks like a win-win situation to me.

We complain when we see moderators trolling posters, with nothing done about it. Jeez.

Just because you think it is trolling doesn't mean it is...

If it's that bad, why are you still here? There're certainly places out there for you that are run to your perfect, exacting standards I am sure.

Righto. Don't mention the trolling, keep calm and carry on ;)

EDIT: Look. everyone knows who the troll mods are. Still waiting for something to be done about it.

Indeed, BJ already mentioned there is no discipline system for mods "It's hard enough to discipline the regular posters". EPIC FAIL.

Life must be so easy if I can just sit around and call the people who waste thousands of hours of their free time to make this looney system somehow work epic fails...

Well, you volunteered, sue me.

Whatevs, you aren't the problem anyway.

I don't really like the splitting of OT. To me, it's just creating just a Red Diamond Forum.

You say that like it's a bad thing.....

Neither the new forums nor this thread are meant for complaining about moderators. We've had plenty of that already. This new initiative is, in part, an attempt to respond to some of the views that have been expressed about moderation in OT. Some people want to have lighter moderation. Well, now we have an OT forum with precisely that. Some people don't want that. Well, we have an OT forum that retains a strong moderator presence. That's the idea - the difference between them is one of moderation, not of topics. Now people can vote with their feet and we'll see how it works out.

But please remember that things like racism, sexism, death threats, etc., as well a PDMA, remain off limits everywhere.

Looks like a raging success. New threads started since announcement: 0
