Oh, the weather outside is...

Okay, today is miserable. It's half past midnight, the weather websites says 26°C, feels like 28°C, and it definitely does not feel cooler.

If you're willing to trade I'd be interested in few rain-free 8hrs or so periods in next few days or so. In exchange I can also take ~5 C of your average temps, too if that's acceptable?

The local temp, 18-22C, is great but continuous raining is not. I can't paint the effing window frames and this way it'll be christmas before the job is done. Luckily oil & electricity are exceptionally cheap this year so having only single glass windows in the house is not a problem, I'll just increase the heating. Oh,... wait.... ******!!!!

Well, the offer stands if the forests fires start coming uncomfortably close. Apparently the rest of Europe is about to burn.

96-98 all week with more of the same coming.

I can extend my offer to The_J to you, too @Birdjaguar as long as the shipping fees are not excessive.

The weather outside my window tonight has been changeable and amazing. I saw the whitest clouds I've ever seen in my life, and not too long later, everything went grey. Then we had a most emphatic thunderstorm (there's still lightning but it's not close anymore) that was loud enough to scare Maddy, so I had to pick her up and cuddle her.

Then it rained. Loudly. At first I thought it might be hail, since today was so miserably hot. But there weren't any hail clouds that I noticed, so it was just rain.

And then I saw a rainbow - first time in years.

Things are a bit cooler now, which is a relief.

A small chance the temperature record will be broken today in Ireland 33.3C /92F.
It's been warm for a few days - we are getting that continental heat now - normally the Atlantic regulates the weather.
It will break overnight thankfully.
22C/72F tomorrow, a more normal 18C/65F by Wednesday.

I've been minding my kids and we are all getting irritable from the heat and uncomfortable nights.

100+ again today. No humidity helps.

We hit 110°F (43°C) yesterday, which tied our record high temperature for the month of July. It was still 93°F (34°C) at 1 in the morning. Strangely enough today it's been cloudy all day and in the 90s (30s C).

I'm looking at flights to Buenos Aires. 63F/17C. If I left now, I could be there in time for breakfast.

The interwebz says my area reached 99F / 37.2C yesterday. I can't verify, because I did not leave the house. (Well, I went out at about 6:00am, was back by 8:00am. I'd think it was only around 80F / 27C, at that time.)

Interestingly, or not, enough 37.2C also is the highest temp recorded in Finland and what makes this even more interesting is that 25th of July is the day when summer is supposed to make a turn back to winter.
25.7. (7/25) is the name day of Jaakko and due to old folklore on this day he throws a cold stone into a lake and autumn starts slowly taking names.

The weather itself, for a change, is excellent here. 22-23C & clear blue sky with a lovely breeze. At this point I'd be an avid supporter of status quo.
