Oh, the weather outside is...

God his expression is like "really I gotta be out here without a shirt and it's doing this.....REALLY"
Actually, he should be saying, "I was having a good hibernation. There's still snow on the ground. Did you really need to wake me up for THIS?"
Or maybe... "Belt and hat but no shoes guys?? in the snow???"

01:38 -- A very long rumble of thunder. Haven't had one of those in awhile.

Fact: You get more thunderstorms the closer you get to the equator. We get lots here.

I'm back in North Carolina for a while, and there's a chance of rain every day for the next week.
Also in Oklahoma City the first half of April was 22F (12C) cooler than the first half of May, but the average temperatures only go up by 9F (5C).

So eleven days after our last significant snowfall in my part of the world my dog and I went camping at the state park I'd mentioned a few posts back (a.k.a. the pic I posted of the shocked Smokey looking out at a snow covered forest), and the weather was extremely buggy with a chance of EEE. How buggy was it? I've got a candle which runs a little hot, and here it is the next morning covered in black flies which spot-welded to it the night before:

When we got to the camp my dog and I took a nice hike through the woods, and when we came back I put her into my Jeep to keep her away from the bugs - she didn't come out the rest of the trip:

Long Weekend("The Two-Four") Was gonna do some work on that garden, but it rained most of the night, and it's raining now. So, i guess it's Civ2 Time.

Black fly season anywhere is is a terrible thing. Thank goodness there are none in NM.

They are so bad here that they will practically carry you away as you head for your car in the morning to go to work.

It's been unusually rainy here which is great. Plus it's been a consistent slow drizzle rather than torrential downpours which is much better from a landslide perspective and probably better for the plants. June Gloom can't decide if it wants to stick around or not. We get a few days on, a few days off at this point. The temps have been consistently in the 60s/70s.

It finally stopped raining and is sunny and warm.

Blue skies, warm weather and flowers. Lots of flowers. Too many flowers. me trying to breathe->

Sunny and mid 80s all week. No humidity, but some wind. Perfect for breakfast on the patio.

I lied. Two hours after my post a T storm came through and dropped half an inch of rain and hail. Shredded flowers and trees. It was our first rain in 54 days. Previously we had a 109 day dry spell broken by .03" of rain. It's been dry, even for a desert.

Seems like there must be a disproportionately high number of gay marriages taking place tomorrow in London:

We are still heading here for the warmest May month since temperature recording started in the Netherlands in 1706.
Three days to go.

It's cool that you have records going back to 1706. In the U.S. state and national records only go back to 1895, but some cities have records going back as far as 1871.
It will probably only be the third warmest May on record in Oklahoma City, where records go back to 11/1890.

Sunny and about 90 today. Dry as expected. Cool breeze from time to time. Quite a perfect day. I had breakfast under the arbor out back and read the papers. I'd like to run a cable from my modem to the arbor and sit out there all day.
