Oh, the weather outside is...

This is how it usually looks...Note: This pic was taken about 8 years ago.....

That looks awfully high to be normal.

The wind picked up tonight and has been blowing dust around.

Shut up, wind.

I like wind sound. Wind is cool. (except when it comes from the Sahara)

I don't mind the sound of wind when it's mild to moderate. It's when the wind gets loud and things start rattling more than usual and the cat starts freaking out that it's something to worry about. According to one of the reports on the City Hall website, we lost over 1500 trees to this storm. :(

There are going to be a lot of bare-looking neighborhoods, parks, and boulevards. One of the southside parks is still closed - not surprising, since it's so heavily wooded and there's a nature/fitness trail running through it.

I live in the Southwest U.S. desert, it's hot. I'll let you imagine the details. We had a heat wave last week, which is unusual that early in June. Dare I say global warming? But it's cooling down this week thankfully. The good thing is I've been working 12 hour days, and going without A/C when I'm not home, so my power bill shouldn't be too high. But now I'm back on my regular schedule.

My five-Day accu-weather forecast is:

Wednesday 116/80 "Hot with plenty of sunshine"
Thursday 114/81 "Sunny, hot and less humid"
Friday 114/78 "Sunny; hot and low humidity"
Saturday 115/79 "Sunny and Hot."
Sunday 116/81 "Sunny, hot and less humid"

Today hit 70 degrees. It'll be 60 for the night.

We're under a heat advisory here now. Central/Southern Alberta is going to be having a heat wave for the next week, at least. Today was not comfortable.

The weather would like to remind us it's July, as the temperatures have soared back into the high 20s, even at night.

Yep, it's gotten hot again. The heat was horrible last night, barely got any sleep even with a fan pointed at me.

The late-night humidity is the worst - lurking around bare-chested is not really my idea of fun.

Huh? I've not found it too bad.

I do live by the coast, though. And my activity levels are low.

The Cotswolds has delightful scenery, for the most part, but most of it is nowhere near the coast.

It is a grand summers day here in the west of Ireland.

17C (63F) and dry but overcast. Slightly warmer than an average summers day.

Am about 100 feet above sea level, one kilometer from the sea.
