Perhaps the second expansion will be WWI-focused? And include such an update? Although, in most V2 games I play that last into the 1900s and involve me fighting a Great War I do get some semblance of a unified front, especially along the French-German border. I agree, it could be a lot more like HoI in Vicky's latter stages.
Either way, it's still too young and has a good part of its life ahead of it for a Victoria 3, and I doubt that an expansion is going to get a code name.

Hey everyone, I made a new account just to ask this q. I invaded Korea as Japan and I would like to emigrate some of my craftsmen there. Problem is, I can't build factories there, as it is a colonial state. Can anyone explain how I can convert it to a full fledgling city?

What the game needs is a basic HoI OOB system. Late-game, if you establish fronts with all your stacks, you end up with this cluttered mess in your organizer devoid of any organization. Not to mention switching to the attack-is-movement model like used in HoI would enable flanking by armies as observed in the Franco-Prussian War and later conflicts of the period. The ability to use submarines to raid shipping would also be a good feature to include for a WW1 expansion (and the more involved naval engine that would be required to flesh out this part of the game).

It needs to have a certain amount of beauracrats and it has to have an accepted culture in it.

Yes, you would need at least 5% of said state's population to be bureaucrats of primary or accepted culture (I forget which one)

I think Vicki 2 needs some sort of non-Syndicalist Anarchist rebel. Like bolsheviks!

Soooooo is the consensus that CK2 is best out of paradox games so far? It seems so from what I read on metacritic, game reviews, and forums.

I never played paradox grand strat games so I want something good and graphic has to be reasonably good.

CK2, if you like that sort of thing, is a fantastic game. There's just something awesome about watching your dynasty slowly take over Europe while you inbreed with your aunt to produce the best possible specimens. :D

EUIII is also a good game though it's not fair to compare the two, really. They are quite different. There are a few demos available though, so you can make your own opinion! :)

Meh, operational flanking isn't that useful in the pre-WWI era and moreover usually occurred within the space of a single territory as seen on the V2 map anyway (especially in 1870 and 1905).

Personally, I just accept that the military engine for V2 is garbage and move on with my life. Of course, I don't actually play V2 anymore, so.

The significant flanking bonus could be at a top-level tech and mostly negligible throughout the early and mid-game. Another reason why its inappropriate at the earliest stage of the game is because they made the provinces quite large, especially in non-European areas.

It doesn't excuse user-friendliness or the lack thereof, though. I have a Russian game that I play off and on right now, and wars are terrible enough with 20 stacks on the Western front plus a few stacks in SE Asia where I've been conquering and colonizing. I'm not looking forward to the massive buildup for the 1910s.
