Paris burning

That wont solve anything. Heres an idea: simply deport any non citizen apprehended while shooting at police, or destroying property.

WTH ? This is insane ! Within two days of the rioting in Gujarat , the supposedly "anti-Muslim" Government had sent in the troops to calm down the area .

Another thing - notice how all these articles avoid explicitly mentioning anywhere that the riots are taking part in the black Muslim areas of the city , and try to gloss over it even if it is mentioned ( in a roundabout way ) ? I absolutely hate this self-balme psychosis the Western media has . Get over the stupidity of Political Correctness , for the sake of your own society !

Long jail sentences should suffice.
Questionable if that will solve the problem. It would drive them underground into what is so fashionably called "terrorism" these days.

Then again I have no idea what could solve it now. The mistakes have been made earlier.

Paris is burning ? I didn't even know ! :coffee:

*sniff*
*sniff*
There's a weird smell... Is anyone cooking bread ? :hmm:

Oh NO !
NOOOOO !
I'm dyiiiiing !

Do you think the reports are exaggerated?

Something like a couple of hundred jerks are burning cars in order to throw stones on firemen and cops afterwards. :shakehead

This is hell for the people living in those areas, but considering it as an insurrection requesting the army is indeed slightly exagerated.

I heard they are hoping this "burn the hood and fight the police" attitude isn't going to spread to Marseille, there are even more suburbs full of kids who are ready to get back at society, or whatever they use as excuse for this.

Surely you arent suggesting that someone arrested for shooting at police and burning other peoples property should be let go, and NOT incarcerated?

The long term issues can be addressed later, but right now what needs to be done is obvious: restore public order and arrest or deport anyone caught participating in or encouraging these acts.

Rioting in Birmingham, Paris and on a smaller scale Denmark... It's dosn't feel nice to say so, but everytime it's immigrants... I guess society is to blame, in the meaning that it's been letting too many immigrants into the country in the first place... There's more than we have been able to integrate, and now we have terror and riots in our own cities.

Closing the borders to non-western countries should be the first obvious step, striking hard against immigrant crime should be the second. But let's not forget that the vast majority of immigrants are neither terrorists or rioters. They should not be blamed for the actions of a minority.

About Paris, it is clear that the soft approach did not contain nor stop the violence. Send in the troops.

No, but existing laws should cover that.

I presume they will do just that.

They seem to have been sitting around on their thumbs debating for a week. What are they waiting for? If these were right wing skinheads rioting they would have poured into the area with clubs and busted heads until the rioting died down. Theyre literally paralyzed and cant bring themselves to adequately respond to the disorder merely because the rioters are immigrants.

They even protect right-wing skinheads from rightfully getting their skulls split by the far bigger group of militant anti right-wing skinheads guys. ;)

Stop saying crap... Already 142 rioters have been incarcerated.

But you obviously exagerate the thing we talk about... it's not something 24 hours on 24 which has to be controlled. It's only about jerks getting out at night to burn cars in order to attract cops and firemen and fight against them.

France needs a man in the house. The Nanny State refuses to discipline the children:p

edit: Marla, no offense, but when you say that its no big deal, everythings being exaggerated, you remind me of Bush saying everything in Iraq is going great.

I love it. Two punks run from the cops and get themselves killed in the process without any assistance from the cops, and the people burn down their own neighborhoods. Soon, they will reap the consequences of employment and services loss as those in Los Angeles did after the 1992 riots. Why? Because insurance companies will retaliate for their losses by refusing to insure any buisness or private customer in that area. Good job!

The centrality of logic is about not talking about stuff we know nothing about.

The kids weren't chased by the cops.

And those riots aren't like those of Los Angeles in 1992.
