Patria Grande: Civilizations of the Americas

AFAIK, Tula's the capital and Tollan was a word used to describe a community (so in that sense, Tula would have been referred to by the locals as a "tollan"). I'm sure that people with more knowledge on the subject will confirm or deny this ;).

Am I the only one that can not open the Culture Overview playing with Argentina? Is that common?

There's a bit controversy as to which city the myth Tollan actually refers to, Teotihuacan or Tula. Its a bit like trying to pin point Camelot. To make things worse Tollan in the post classical also re.fered to metropolis of certain size and importance, like Cholula (Tollan Cholollan)

As for the Toltecs I think its safe to go with Tula.

Also, nice overall list, however maybe the first few cities could be listed to show the Toltec core area before the conquests?

-Tula
-Xilotepec
-Huichapan
-Tollantzinco (Tolancingo)
-Tlalpizahuac
-Huapalcalco

and then the conquests starting with the two most important
-Cholula
-Cacaxtla

If you take a look at the More Civs thread a few pages back I and a few others had a similar issue. The common denominator was Paraguay. There's a working fix in there too.

Could you link me to it? I tried to find it myself but had no luck, haha.

It's been a silent week, eh? Anyways, here's the list I compiled for the Mapuche, they don't have a standard grammar, and I used a standard that deviates from the Spanish that's traditionally used, in case you were wondering on the odd names for the cities:

Spoiler :
Puren
Pilmayken
Perkenco
Killin
Kulshe
Shiliwe
Boroa
Koz Koz
Penko
Curarewe
Neuken
Shaura Kawin
Wenu Leufu
Kalbuko

I had a little discussion on which one should be the main city (Pwel Mapu doesn't quite cut it partly because it's mythical and partly because it refers only to the east), Perkenco, Puren and Pilmayken had their merits, amongst others, Perkenco due to being the actual capital of the Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia as well as a couple important events that happened there, Pilmayken due to the fact that it was the birthplace of many important Toki, such as Caupolican, Killin due to being the place where the treaty that recognized Mapuche as a state was signed, but we finally settled in Puren due to being the place where most of the resistance was concentrated and as such most of the population during the Arauco war. Shiliwe is also a competitor as it was the center of operations of Kalfucura, who was probably the only one we could actually claim that controlled the territory showed on the Mapuche map, yeah, he was quite the warchief.

So yeah, some little food for thought.

While I'm at it I'd also like to suggest a modified city list for Chile, it's not wrong per se, but it's kinda north centric, which ain't a good idea given both that those ain't quite the most populated cities nor the ones who've been under chilean, err, control the longest.

Spoiler :

Santiago de Chile (Santiago de Nueva Extremadura if you feel like doing something silly)
Concepción
Valparaiso
La Serena
Valdivia
Castro
Talca
Copiapo
Rancagua
Iquique
Arica
Puerto Montt
Antofagasta
Punta Arenas

I remade the list on a basis of a combination of oldest foundation and population, the first taking precedense, which is why the Northen and Southern cities are pretty much on the bottom, given that they were founded/integrated into the country much later. BTW, any plans for fixing the chilean map any time soon?

Ok, I was on a trip in a little town with no Internet, so no advancements could be made, sorry about that... Will see if I can get updates this week :D

@Hoops: Great Work as always!

@Culture Overview issue: Its possibly due to some conflict with another mod... What mods are you using?

Hmmm. Any idea on how to use Nexus in the SDK?

Just finished reading this entire thread. So over the weekend I was bored and was looking at Civ 5 mod civilizations and that's how I found this thread. All these civs are very neat. Especially the mesoamericans. Mainly just because I like how the names look for cities.
Edit: I downloaded the Tropico civ and put it in the folder called MODS but it's not showing up in my mod list. Does anyone know what the problem is?
Edit 2: I figured it out it's working now.

So I was playing Tropico and I didn't see any increased influence from completing city state quests. It was still 40 influence. Also the Immigration UB doesn't always give specialists slots.
If you get back to Tropico (seeing as the other civs are no doubt higher priorities) may you fix these bugs?

You know, I was searching for civs to make myself yesterday and I came across the Chimor. They seem like an interesting enough South American Civ. They came after the collapse of the Wari empire.

I'm experiencing a really strange bug whilst playing as Peru:

I've got negative culture, but it's apparently not coming from anything in particular? Never seen anything like this before.

Btw, what map is that? It has true start locations for mod civs?

I think thats Yet (not) Another Earth Maps Pack. Almost every mod by JFD, Leugi, Tomatekh and the Colonist Legacies Mods have built in TSLs or patches for TSLs. Theres one for Leugi's on the OP.
