PAX Conference analysis thread

Really interesting to see the earlier version of Civ5! That 'French Unit' fortification animation was really good. Shoulda kept it.

Shoot! :(
I was just at bathroom while they showed the old version... did anybody capture it on video or can I somehow view it now?

Not as sad as Genghis Khan's hunting eagle (it's in his concept art).

Where's his concept art?

I think I saw it in one video Geoff Knorr uploaded to Youtube. Either that, or the concept artist's portfolio. Geoff Knorr's videos contain a lot of leaderscreen concept art.

And then there's the little things, like Mount Everest being in screenshots and then not in the final game...

That Bismarck leaderscreen with people in the back looked nice, sad that they had to cut them.
The leaderscreen really looked better like that.
I dunno why they decided to put all the leaders into completely empty rooms in the finished game. It feels more desolate and less alive or credible like that.

Pueblo Civ? Then Gucumatz's predicitions of an Anasazi civ weren't too far off.

Anasazi/Pueblo not in??? Gah - what? I was so sure they would make it in.
