eastsidebagel...don't let these guys let you get carried away. this isn;'t some wild lawless, completely corrupt state we live in. They are clearly 'raging' against the system. Do they have a good point? Of course, police action CAN be brutal and over the top. Is it a major problem in the USA as a whole? No.

(I would like to add that i live in a rural area. That may account for our different experience)

I have a question: Is the usage of such exaggerated force by the police quite common in America, at least in the major cities? What about it in Canada?
@Warhead: I've read your last post with amazement. Sorry about your missing dealer too.:mischief:

America Is only Corrupted and Brutal in big cities, or state capitals.

Some Smalltowns in the us suffer from SOME Brutality and corruption.

EASTSIDE BAGEL: your buddy fround out your leaving europe form your location :)

Woah, the situation in America about police brutality differs on so many levels from the situation here in Europe, that's all I can remark after reading the posts so far.
I'm Australian. Corruption over here is off the charts. The most corrupt police organisation in the country is the Anti-Corruption Commision. Sweet, sweet irony.

As I said earlier, brutality isn't actually the primary problem here. It's a symptom of the real problem, corruption. Solve that, you solve brutality.

On a tangent about America, I was once watching a show along the lines of World's Wildest Police Videos or some-such. There was a guy sleeping in his car in a carpark. Not doing anything, no alcohol or drugs present or anything like that - just sleeping.

The cops approached the car, setting up a sort of base of operations. They sent out a robot with a camera on the end to look inside the car. The camera bumped the window. The guy woke up, screamed - as many people would upon waking up to see a weird-looking robot hovering over them - and opened the door, knocking the robot over. As he stepped out of the car to see what the hell he'd just knocked down, he was shot by four beanbags and arrested.

WTH?!

Dude, every one of thme police dudes, theyre way ova tha line dude. They like, take theyre gunz out and aim for da head every time its so freaking ridiculous man. dude, i cant believe them cops are so corrupt and brutals. And the man, we gots to take him down dude.

F*** THE POLICE!

who needs cops if every body is happy?

If we Focus on fighting Crime, More Crime will come.

I went to a party once, (5 people) and we had a little bit of weed... So we were partying, having a good time in the bush and one police cruiser pops in, He finds the pot.

He takes the pot, Asked us for a lighter and left. WTH????

No Possesion charge or anything he took the pot and left!

@ Sharwood: The additional problems seems also to be boredom and a sick affinity towards sadism.
When you give power to people who are incapable of using it in a just manner, sadism or hedonism are often the result.

That's natural. If you want something to prosper and thrive, set up a powerful comission for extermination of that something. It's basic laws of common sense.

Well, he took the pot obviously for himself and his buddies.
I heard a similiar from some friends of mine too, no charges, no questions asked, just "napping" the weed. In moments like these I question the functionality of the police, even though that I'm myself kind a cop (surprise, I'm a prison guard). It's just seems very corrupt and mean for the untrained eye, I guess.

It's hard to follow the life style of enviromentalism , and livity when you have to put up with dirty cops, i respect the cops who do their job but over half of them , don't play by the rules.

There's Quite a Few movies that explain corruption

Training Day
(ill build the list in a bit)

Eastside, Check out that jackherer link www.jackherer.com/chapter07.html It explains it all.

I checked out your link and was instantly reminded of the "Should marijuana be legalized"-thread in which we used to post not long ago. It doesn't matter how many times you're repeating to enlist the merits of weed though, it didn't cause to alter the laws yet and it's unlikely that pot will get the full recognition it thoroughly deserves any time soon (therefore I prefer Canada over the US, it seems that over there they finally shoved their heads out of their asses).

The Anti-Corruption bit maybe ironic, but it's understandable- who else to try and get on your side than those trying to expose you?

And the dude assaulted by the robot, those videos tend to have narration, did this one? And if so, what was he saying? I'm asking because those videos tend to try and justify what is going on.

the Canadians will be the first to legalized in north America , was it really supposed to be a maple leaf?

Corruption & Brutality will be Slowed down with the legalization of a plant

What do you mean by this?

no, Too much people are being busted for possesion, thus equaling brutality. if you get charged once, expect to be the cop's B_T_H's for the rest of your life

Ah, so if you break the law the cops bust you? Cry me a river buddy. My taxes are going towards them TO do things like that.
