What's the matter with Willian Wallace? I'm no expert on Scotland history but I can't imagine why is he such a bad leader?

Well, he wasn't King of Scotland, more of a rebel leader. That's my main problem. And the other is I don't want his appearance based on Mel Gibson's highly anachronistic movie portrayal.

Even outside of the cultural sensitivity reasons, I hope Firaxis can find some way to avoid this, because Civ 6 already has it's 100% warmonger civilizations in Macedon and Mongolia. Not to mention several 75% warmonger civs in England, Scythia, Norway and the Aztecs.

I feel like Civ 6 has met it's quota for war civs and doesn't really need any more.
I don't think England and Norway are 75% warmongers. I can play a full game as them peacefully and get a good navy or army for defence without worring about them too much. Scythia on the other hand is a warmonger, only the kurgan is not militaristic thing but it's the worst unique improvement in my mind and I have never built it with intent on actually using them.

It was an intentional exaggeration clearly, because I am that confident that the 'leak', at best, isn't entirely correct. I'd guess it's a joke, maybe a reference to that video posted earlier.

If I'm wrong I'll still be buying the expansion, but I will actually be disappointed.
Yes true, I would also be disappointed!

He won Stirling Bridge but was soundly defeated at Falkirk. Robert the Bruce was a contemporary and later became king.

My only problem is that if the Zulu and Ottomans are both in we're going to have to settle with only one of them getting a Unique District. :nono:
Besides it's never been if the Zulu will be in, it's been more like when will they get in. Obviously I would like Mali and Ethiopia first but I'm not in charge.
As for William Wallace, being a Great General is fine, just don't make him a leader. Also if they make a Gaelic Civ that would be a step in the right direction instead of calling it just the Celts.
I can't see them making a Scottish Civ without an Irish Civ, and two separate ones would be too much (this coming from someone who is mostly Scotch-Irish in origin).
Since I already pre-ordered it I'm going to have to deal with whatever I get, and in the end I think everything will be alright.

Yup, I don't really like having the Zulu as a series regular.

Hittites would be nice to see! They really should make a comeback.

I never cared for either. Or the Celts, for that matter.

Regardless of who shows up next, though, the Cree and Korea will keep the books balanced positive. For me.

If its Carthage...

A better translation would be “This one shouldn’t be a secret. Everyone has already figured it out, and it’s not a brand new civ.” “Brand new civ” as in “they’re not new to the Civ franchise”

Thanks for the clarification. If there is anything else from that thread that can be learned we'd be eternally grateful :)

It won't be with Hannibal though. Speaking of Carthage, Toronto also wasn't seen in the Cree first look.

From an opportunity cost standpoint, all military abilities are technically also economic abilities, because having a stronger military means you can devote fewer cogs to making units and more to making infrastructure. By that logic, Macedon is the only real war civ, because they're the only civ with multiple abilities that specifically trigger off of capturing cities. And with the coming of Rise & Fall, even they might have a viable pacifist strategy if their abilities also trigger off of gaining a city through a loyalty flip.

But let's be real here. That's not how you're intended to play those civs. They're not giving you all those military bonuses "just in case". You're supposed to use them. Just because you have the option of not using them doesn't mean those civilizations weren't designed around warring all the time.

Well... For Ottomans, Bazaar works well as both UD replacing the Commercial Hub and UB replacing Market :p
That would be a Small Bazaar than, not so Grand. :p
Poland already has a unique Market, but then again, Khmer and Norway both have a unique Temple.
In that case the Zulu could have a unique Barracks or Stable instead of an Encampment.;)

Let's just call it the Bazaar, and hope for the Grand Bazaar apearing as a wonder in a future DLC/expansion pack :P

Stable? Zulu didn't have equestrian units, did they? But about the Barracks, of course they could get a UI. And then there is the third option - the leak is fake and they won't appear in R&F :P

I agree the name does Bazaar work just fine.
An Ikanda was a military corral though for cattle, not horses. I can't see Zulus riding cattle into battle.
I fully expect the Ikanda to be the whole military district anyway, and was joking about the stable (since the Mongols just got one).

Battle cattle does sound appealing, though.

Maybe the Ottoman unique infrastructure is the Hammam, like in Civ4? :p

Rome already has a Bath, which the Hammam evolved from.
