Portal 2

I don't think it went over anyone's heads, it was just a bad joke is all. ;)

Glad to hear Portal 2 was worthwhile, I still haven't picked it up (will probably wait for a sale) but it's definitely on the list. The first game was too good to pass up the sequel, especially given how thorough Valve tends to be with their games. I'm really interested in seeing how this works in co-op, too.

The sale like the one going on right now where you can get the PC version on Amazon.com for $29.99? I've heard Best Buy and Gamestop have had similar price drops. I was planning to pick this up sooner or later even at full price but at $30, sold, it's too good of a deal to pass up. Probably swing by Best Buy (or Fry's if it's the same price there) after work today and pick it up.

Well I was disappoint, excluding a few bits of dialogue with Cave Johnson it wasn't that very good. Hardly laughed once. The ending was good, before the FMV part I mean, with the moon and all that jazz.

Really? It was bad? :( Did you find the first one humorous?

I'm waiting on the Xbox 360 version, and hoping for something like 50% off (eventually). I'm in no hurry, really. I got the first one for what, $10? So even $30 for this seems a bit steep.

@SuperJay: Portal 1 was 3 hours long and an experiment, Portal 2 is about 10-14 hours long depending on the player, plus replays so $30 seems like a pretty good price.

Cave Johnson probably is the most humourous character but I found Wheatley's antics to be pretty funny too.

Yeah kozmos, please spoiler that for those that haven't played.

And he's just plain wrong. Glados was, as usual, hilarious... Also Wheatley was fantastic I thought, a really excellent counterpart to Glados.

Yeah, I'm aware of the differences between the two - it's just a matter of my own priorities. I'm not in a huge rush to get Portal 2; the game's not going anywhere, and there's no advantage to owning it now versus owning it in 6 months, so I might as well wait til it's cheaper. :) I'm looking forward to the game, for sure, but it's springtime and I'm plenty busy with other things for now.

True, I don't really worry too much about spoilers; I can keep myself fairly ignorant - sometimes it's even intentional. :p

And nice, I hadn't heard about the free content pack. God bless you, Valve. :D

Played it, loved it. Especially good ol' Wheatley. He was a blast to listen to every time I saw/met/followed* him.

Spoiler :
*/pursued/fought/detached/corrupted/fooled/left him in space

Spoiler :
It was brilliantly done. The sad thing is we'll never have the 'The Part Where He Kills You' achievement pop up again, as it did with fantastic timing the first time round.

Spoiler :
GLaDOS: Oh no! This is the part where he kills us!
Wheatley: Hello! This is the part where I kill you!
Chapter Title: The Part Where He Kills You.
Achievement: The Part Where He Kills You; This is it.

Yes. It was beautiful.

I know the temptation is to rush through this type of game, but in this case it really is worth taking the time to savour all the little comments and sidelines as in the spoilers above. I'm glad now I took the time and explored it all.

True that. The first time I got through the game, I realized that I had missed some of the quotes in my first playthrough. But I'm catching up on that right now. :)

Just finished Portal 2, no guide. T'was quite excellent.
