Postcounts: To to or not to be?

In the poll in OT, more than 82% said post count removal wouldn't affect their posting at all, and only around 7% said it would lessen their posting. Xen who seems to be a leader in this 'crusade' said it would make him post more...

Thats just in OT, not in the iste in general.

This has turned into a riot. Just PLEASE bring back the post counts...

Most things that make up your personality are ever-changing. There's no constant "you" that persists throughout your life.

Hmm, this seems to have gone out of hand. There are 3 threads here debating on it (but 2 are closed), there's a spammer who joined to post an identical thread "warning" people of the post count disapearance, and now some people are putting their post count in their sig.

I know what's going on. Debating on getting your post count back.

I noticed it earlier that my post count was gone, and I was thinking, "oh well, so the idea was passed." Then, I see a bunch of identical threads warning people about their missing post counts. So, I go to Site Feedback. There are several threads here, but most locked.

this is because CFC isnt ghey. only one forum on the internet where the "money feature" is one that I like, and non others.

And interestingly, that forum doesn't have visible postcount.

I see that. But most of people on the forum (like me) had no idea this debate was going on and thus did not have a say in it.... When I saw the postcount disapeared I was worried, then upset as I do like to see it in threads. So now we want to discuss it more openly and have more people debate about this in order to find out what most (or more active part of) CFC thinks.... then TF and mods will see what people think and ...... do something ....or something else. But at least they will be informed on how the people think about poctcounts.

I really don't see why postcounts should be removed. I highly doubt anybody descriminates by how large someone's postcount is. I don't see much more of a reason to have it other than to not have. Why do you care how much someone posts? I don't care one way or another, but because so many more people appear to want it back by the poll, I say bring it back.

At the beginning, I didn't have a clear opinion about it. And then, I've thought about it. I came to the obvious conclusion that removing post counts isn't a nice gesture towards all those who have been faithful to this website.

CFC is today the first Civilization forum in the world. It's clearly one of the best videogame website in the world. If that's the case, it's before everything thanks to Thunderfall who accomplished a brilliant job as a webmaster... but it would be ungrateful to not be thankful also to all the posters of this forums. Let's be honnest. Posters are making a large part of the amazing content of this website.

This being said, I don't believe the majority of posters should enforce their will on Thunderfall. If the majority would rule this forum, it would fastly turn out into the mess too many forums on internet are already. Thunderfall is a great manager. I don't know many people who aren't satisfied of Civfanatics. The simple thing is that, I consider that story of post count isn't that bad after all, and if post counts are put back, it would be a nice small gesture from Thunderfall, and I'm sure most posters will be very grateful towards him if he does so.

No, you are whiners if you look at the current forum, see something that most people like, and then try to change it even though it doesn't affect you much, if at all.
