Posters?

Gotta love Ram with the throughness & visual aids. :)

What Indian art ones do you have? I love Indian art, all those badass and sexy Hindu Gods, all the animals and life... and arms. :D

A big poster with the periodic table of the elements.
Which one's your favorite?

None in the room, but when I moved in to the corridor there were already posters of Bad Cash Quartet, Cat Power and Harry Potter, and a big 2D-cardboard-doll of Carl von Linné.:) The doll is gone now though:(

Well when I was at university I went to India and didn't visit family. Instead I went up to the mountains (Himalaya foothills and beyond) and spent lots of time with the Saddhus. Here's a thread in History Forum about them. I gained much of my world/spiritual/cosmic views from these guys and the posters around my home at university was a tribute to them and their beliefs. Note that they were mostly of Shiva - god of the dance - god of destruction for the sake of rebirth - a wandering lover man - the meditation trailblazer - and one dude of a god! The posters I had were far more psychedelic, these are some examples I found quickly.

As for the Indian art now, well that is more classical Mughal and Persian painting (I love reading this medieval poetry also). You can see loads of these paintings by playing my scenario (check the tech tree and build wonders). I've bought many in India from some very insignificant marlket traders then discovered that some of them nearly 400 years old! But here are some gentle examples for now these styles decorate my walls.

On my side of the dorm, i hang a Brazilian Flag and some pictures from home. One of my roomies has a Led Zepplin poster, the other, Jessica Alba. mmm

I also have the japanese kana of dragon, A map of the world of Loz:WW and I'm planning on getting a periodic table and maybe something Final fantasy. Most likely Bahamat.

Tommorow i'm eliegible for a custom avvie, and i'm gonna use a picture of Bahamat.

Not posters, but two Chinese art that was given by my Chinese ex-girlfriend.

I have an AT flyer for the Bellrays, the Giger "landscape" from my Frankenchrist LP and a print of a van Gough (detail?) of some old boots.

I have a Collingwood Football Club poster (AFL), a pokemon poster(it's stuck to the wall ), a lightning poster and a Rome Total War poster. But the most important part of my room is my TV
*runs off to room, hugs TV, runs back to computer*

Had the Civ2 and SMAC tech tree posters on my wall at one point...

Oh yes and a copy of the Mappa Mundi for some odd reason.

I have some posters hanging on the wall. Occasionally I let them down so they can post a few comments. But then its back up on the hook!

Well...ok, as long as you whip up one of those dishes for lunch that you posted in El Justos recipe thread.

No 'posters' but a combination of paintings and framed posters. In the latter category there is the Hood, some medieval designs, and some right wing historical items. In the former there is The Lady of Shallott, two portraits of me, one of Her Majesty and one of the Fuhrer.

Exactly one, on the bedroom wall, framed.
It's a combination of three drawings, here's one of them:

I have one print of an aerial photo the '99 Rose Bowl (I had roadtripped like 3,000 miles with friends to the game and all over the US Southwest (plus the requisite stop in Tijuana), and used to hang out with several of the Wisconsin players in that game; parents had gotten print for me).
Otherwise, my walls (at work and home) are extremely spartan (lifestyle is (I think) sheer coincidence with username (which is a college nickname referencing my (laughably small) hometown)).

Used to have NIN, Meth&Red tour, and Dilated Peoples posters five years ago in my tiny college apt. I think I also used to use slightly fewer parentheticals once upon a time as well  .

Let's see. I have a poster from the Model Railroad Show 2005 that took place in January at the Pacific Science Center in Seattle (of which I designed all by myself) and a map of San Andreas. Other than that, I have 3 framed currency notes from merry ol' Imperial Russia before the Bolsheviks came around, an Inspiration type picture, a clock from a local Indonesian church, a Harley Davidson 2005 calender set to October and a fancy fake painting I bought at Ikea several years ago in Hong Kong.

Yeah that's it.
