Doing histories for people.
[lj] Enlightened Sarkantos:
The Sarkantine Eparchy collapsed as the world entered the industrial age due to a combination of court infighting and a massive rebellion that caused the Eparchy to lose control of Great Parsha. The old council of generals had to reunify, reorganize, and liberalize, allowing the 'common people' to have some representation in the operation of government, the so called 'Sarkantos Enlightenment'. Economic liberalization broke up the old state monopolies and led to new urban growth in Narisiya, and control over the foreign trade routes between Parsha and Semikadia gave the reinvigorated Sarkantos the funds to reform their army and conquer Jormunj, long a source of annoying raiders that had plagued Narisiya. Imperial ambitions lie in both directions, as the great old Eparchies of the past once ruled Selena and Parsha both. Where Enlightened Sarkantos will turn next lies up to the Council of Servitude and the whims of fate.
[Matt0088] The Ninth Holy Diarchy of Great Parsha:
Once home to the world's first great monuments and great empires, Parsha has long stood in the shadow of the Pillars. In recent centuries, the Three Rivers have been ruled by Ankos, Urethak, and most recently Sarkantos. Sarkantos had long ruled with the consent of the great families of Parsha, but a religious revival of the old dualistic faith started a revolt from the bottom up. The elites belatedly joined in and won an unexpected victory over the Sarkantine Eparchy. The new state was styled after the ancient divine monarchies, with the two Diarchs, male and female, the personification of the gods of darkness and light themselves. This religious zeal is a powerful impetus for conquest, but much modernization of Parsha's great ancient cities is needed before Parshan armies can come roaring out of the desert once more. Will this theocratic empire manage the task? Only time will tell.
[noob] The Separated Republic of Euzaro
The Euzar were long outcasts within the tribal confederacies of the Tain, because of their strange language and their culture, which obsessed with ritual purity, caused the Euzaro to separate themselves into separate enclaves, where they worshiped a monotheistic god separate from the Tain pantheon. During a war with the Birodalmat, the Euzaro warriors decided to come to a separate peace, and this was the last straw for the Tain. A wave of pogroms hit Euzaro quarters in cities across Selena, and a great exile began. Forced out of every possible home, the Euzar began to migrate across the sea, landing in a separate colony that they named after themselves. Influenced by Lijiani republicanism, they formed a Republic of their own, and are most famous for giving women limited suffrage, in the form of votes that are separate but equal.
Pretty much everyone hates them.
