You can do things to stand up for social justice without going to jail. In jail it will be very hard to accomplish much. As a free man you can do far more.

Second: The man in the video was wearing a mask. This would make it hard to identify him. In real life are you going to wear a mask everywhere you go just in case by some random chance you'll encounter a Nazi?

No, but I'd put one on if I were going to punch a Nazi on camera.

That isn't actually true, I'm more of a cold trail to a more secluded spot kind of guy, but I'm sure you get the point.

@Kyriakos...Sometimes I miss prison because it is the only place I've ever been where common courtesy was actually common. It's amazing how easily people can ratchet up their game when it comes to being nice to each other...now if we could just find a way to motivate them that didn't involve threat of immediate physical consequences.

If people really knew what prison was like it would lose most of its value as a deterrent...and it doesn't really have much to start with. As the quote says: "I have gained this by philosophy, that I do without being commanded what others do only through fear of the law." We live in an extremely philosophical era. People obey the law because they want to, mostly, not because they fear the consequences if they don't. Despite how full of themselves our 'law enforcers' have become, if it was really just them that was 'keeping people in line' they would all be dead in a day.

If I had a nickel for every mother that I've tried to explain the bolded to about their son... well... I guess I do, actually... anyway, the point is, the mom's see all these "scared straight" and "boot-camp" videos for wayward teens on Dr. Phil or the Montel show, or Jerry Springer or the Steve show, and they think "Yea! Lock his his ungrateful a** up! That'll teach him!"... Yep, it will... what it will "teach him" is that jail is just a place, and most people survive their time there. Also spending all day everyday around people with various skills in various illegal trades has about the same effect that spending all day every day around a bunch of Magic the Gathering players... you end up better at and more knowledgeable about Magic the Gathering (or crime) than you were before. BTW, doing time in juvie is gonna give him increased street cred and make him more popular with all those guys you wanted him to stop hanging out with... so yea, keep cheering for him to go in, thinking you're gonna get a Montel Williams result...In any case, recidivism (going back once you've been) is around 70%+... so the "lesson" isn't a great one by any standard.

I think that, still, most people would not survive easily in a prison setting. And most prisons are not the hospitable/ civilized kind that looks more like a hotel (eg prisons in Norway) Or even a mental asylum ward. Seems that most prisons have serious violence of inmate vs inmate on a daily basis (?).

It is true that i get virtually all of my impression of prisons from tv shows

Well, they do at the very least acknowledge that punching women is seen as a taboo in society. Not sure if they actually believe in it. I'd assume that those trolls aren't actually the "far right" people these media think they are but mostly just your average troll, those people are usually all about "If it's okay to punch a man in a situation, it's double-plus okay to punch a woman in that same situation!".

Eh, its difficult to tell if it is trolling, and thats intentional in a way. Its a useful shield to hide behind if something they believe in is inconvenient. A different form of dog whistling I guess.

Whenever a woman makes a good choice, however insignificant, she has to be applauded profusely for having done so in the face of the debilitating obstacle of being a woman.

If a woman makes a bad choice it's clearly the fault of men [insert something something internalised oppression / reducing the woman to a marionette].
So the correct response to a woman being a Nazi is to punch a male Nazi.
If one isn't readily available punching any random male (preferably white and straight) will do as an appropriate substitution.

You didn't ask, but for your education i am including this: So, what happens when a female Nazi or some largely apolitical female bystander punches a straight white male Antifa member?
Well, while among his peers the straight white male Antifa member is - obviously - scum and supposed to shut up, listen and believe, said Antifa member, when punched by a female Nazi enters a quantum state and becomes a "woman honoris causa", thus resolving the inconsistency.

In summation:
If a female Nazi and a straight white male Antifa are merrily trading blows, what is actually happening is the following: An enlightened ally is acting on the obvious Truth that Nazis are inherently male and clearly male Nazis are at fault for the female Nazis face being in the wrong place at the wrong time;
and a Nazi, who is male by being a Nazi, is beating up some defenseless woman (h.c.).

Yeah, like I said in my post, they're made up. But they are the logical conclusion for people who state that "Women and men are equal" and "Punching Nazis is okay".
