war trait combinations like Agg/Cha - Boudica, Pro/Cha - Churchill, Imp/Cha - Cyrus. Is any good? And how does they work?

They are overpowered or underpowered? Imp/Cha+Vassalage+Theocracy+some great generals in 1 city as inscructors is any good?

Protectice considered as weakest trait - what about Pro/Cha Churchil combination is that combination still not great?

The question is a bit too general to answer in detail. I'd say that in comparison with most other traits AGG and PRO are fairly weak, simply because economy is more important than promotions. And also: if you need promotions, you can always use Vassalage, Theo or GGs. Easy to get and open for everyone. However, they do have some niche advantages. E.g. warrior rushing is even easier with AGG on Noble / Prince.

Bit of an overkill with Cyrus, I'd say :) IMP / CHA is actually not a useless combo economically, either, although there are many stronger combos. Mounted is the way to go, pray for elephants :) Settle and grow :)

PRO is a real niche trait, it's probably OK to try and xbow rush with Sitting Bull, but largely only because of his UB and his PHI trait. Or maybe ckn rush with China. PRO has some uses in multiplayer acually, but it's still not something you'd rate above any other trait.

Churchill is one of the best for a Drafting strategy. Since Drafted units have half XP the PRO and CHA help a lot there. The trick is getting a good Globe city set up and teching to Rifling for Redcoats ASAP.

Except that Liz or Vicky could get to Rifling a lot faster, so you wouldn't have to fight the same opposition...

Hence the phrase "one of the best".

If you're looking to make use of a leaders trait combination (like maybe when you don't cherry pick the best leaders) I was offering a valid strategy for Churchill, which is what alex15 asked about. : )

Does anyone remember the exact formula for the probability of a free religion spread?

If I remember correctly, map size also had an impact to it, but I do not have the formula saved anywhere and quick googling did not provide any useful answers..

Post #38 in Vocum Sineratio: Dona Eis Relions has some of the math. If God-Emperor's stuff isn't what you're looking for then it's probably the place to ask for more info.

Hmm.. Now that I'm actually utilizing the formula I think it's not entirely correct or at least I'm interpreting it incorrectly. (it gives too low values compared to my experiences) I guess I should actually check out the code but I'm too lazy for that.

Do I want to conquer this Island of Rome or take it over and return all the cities to Rome when they capitulate OR take it all over and then create a new colony from it?

Rome has been technologically backwards since mid game, and I was hoping to get it as a Vassel but Alexander got in instead somehow :/

I was thinking of courthouses and the forbidden palace might help make it a great support for my little empire, that is right close to it on the map actually.

I have been sitting in my corner the whole game pretty much, the only access into my domain is a 2 square space at the top of a string of mountains acting as a natural wall, said town (gatetown) is on top of a hill and that the AI just bounces off of it when they attempt to attack me.

Got a city just outside the natural wall slowly working to bring two of Boudicas cities into my control via culture.

Isabella made a naval play but I was able to sink most of the Galleons before they could cause any real trouble.

Rome's island would make a great support for my empire, but I am wondering if its worth attempting to try and keep it defended when its under my control fully, or just leave it to a vassal that I can send help every so often if things get hairy. I can pump out units super fast, and I am giong to need them as the only way to win this game is conquest and its a huge map :P

The quick answer would be vassal them.

I don't know if fighting Greece for it is what you want to do and I think Courthouses/FP etc would be better built closer to home, like in Celt lands. If you have open borders with Ottomans or Ethiopia you could attack Celts from multiple angles.

Vassal would be suited if Rome would give up easily, but I doubt that as they seem to be a vassal themselves. I wouldn't create a colony either if conquered completely already, colony maintenance is a huge factor with rising difficulty, and AIs are generally weaker then humans.

What do you have against keeping? Those cities look really nice to me, and with the FP it doesn't matter where they are. You could also simply run State Property as an alternative, if not having Corporations State Property is the best Civic anyhow.

Seraiel: Creating a colony is a way to reduce colony maintenance. The cities in the new colony become a vassal, and you pay vassal maintenance which, as I recall, is much less than the colony maintenance (that can be up to and in addition to the distance maintenance.)

You are correct that SP will also eliminate the colony maintenance as it's based on the distance maintenance.
