I hate it when those stupid radio DJs just never stop talking about nothing when they could be playing music. Morning is the worst but it persists all friggin day and even late into the night. These people really gotta get a life because it is very annoying. Noone wants to hear about what they had for breakfast or what TV show they watched. Just shut up and play music. And stop answering phone calls of the idiots who call in. Those people have no lives either so they call radio stations and try to hit on the DJs or say hello to people who nobody else listening gives a **** about. In short, it wastes time. I would rather hear commercials because its the commercials that pay to keep the station going, not these half-wit morons.

I just had to vent!!!

Quite a few stations are going to an "its about the music" marketting ploy now, in which they claim to play more music and less talk, but it usually amounts to just about the same amount of talk with some pre-recorded voice slogan of "its about the music" every 5 seconds! I share your plight... satellite radio is great

I don't have that problem. I'm usually listening to talk radio! If they didn't talk, that'd be a problem.

talk radio drives me nuts most of the time (occasional there are some good things though). if it isn't idiotic political commentators who only have a radio spot because they are willing to be boisterous and annoying so that they can portray themselves as being no-nonsense and controversial, it's pretentious public radio drivel.

public radio reminds me in many ways of that part in John Stewart's America book where they say something about a book called "blurry diners and poor people: a pretentious coffee table book"

I don't bother with NPR. I listen to the hacks. Can be quite entertaining to a nerd like myself.

You live in New Jersey. What radio stations do you listen too?

The Hawk, the Shark, Oldies 100.1. A good part about South Jersey is that the number of aging hippies-turned-middle-aged fathers means an abundance of classic rock stations. The bad part is the aging hippies-turned-middle-aged fathers.

(It's also a sad comment on the radio that classic rock is the best station, and is usually some crappy Led Zeppelin/Eagles/REO Speedwagon marathon.)

I stopped listen to radio years ago when I realized the DJs have nothing intelligent to say and the airwave is full of boy\girl-band crap.

funny thing, this one station we usually have on at my work, usually go on and on about how they play 11 songs, back to back, without interruption

what they really mean is, theres no advertising between the songs, which isnt completley true either

between songs the lady/guy usually yap about 5 minutes about how great they are for playing 11 songs "without interruption".....!

how goddamn dumb is that? not to mention their music sucks, at least in UK and america you guys have like thousands of stations to choose from, here we have like 3 that i can live with and 2-3 that would push me over the edge, and make me start killing people

Much worse is when disrespectful DJs, who just love the sound of their own voices, talk through a song.

I actually like my local DJ's, especially near typhoon time when I listen to them while near the beach waiting for the warnings to get home.

if you dont like the talking, switch radio stations... as many just play non-stop music as talk non-stop

I never bother listening to the radio, no good stations except online and I can just listen to my own music anyways!

Yup, I don't listen to the radio, I have plenty of my own music, and I know I will like it :).
