What is going on with availability of alcohol in Maryland? The supermarkets do not sell booze, and I went to an off licence just after 10pm, they would not let me in and said "drive in only". I walked round to the drive through window and they said "you need wheels to be served here, car, bike or skateboard will do" and so would not sell me anything? Who are these rules supposed to be helping?

Who the hell thinks a drive through liquor store is a good idea????

You can't walk through a drive thru for insurance reasons.

I've walked through a Burger King drive thru before.

East coast blue/vice laws. Minimum price allowed by law sort of stuff.

Sometimes to do with limiting points of sale during hours when the police tend to be dealing with intoxication, sometimes not.

@Lexicus Being laid off is a bummer; I hope you find something interesting, fun and worthwhile soon.

He's also failed to give me a baby after almost five months. I know I shouldn't start worrying until after a year, but I'm impatient ... plus, my sister literally was pregnant barely a month after she got married.
"Failure" can happen on either or both sides of the equation. Timing, coming off birth control, bad luck etc. can all come into play. Keep trying...:D

So I take it that north america has figured out bread then? UK/AU/NZ has very much not. Their breads are all terrible. Spongy tasteless matter than is an insult to real bread.

You need to go to a decent bakers.
Supermarkets sell cheap rubbish bread and expensive rubbish bread (hand-finished in store is such a scam).

Likewise "artisan" bread. "Artisan" just means made by hand, you big fraud!

Gave my sandwich press a test spin today. It went a lot faster than I expected (rave). The reviews said it takes at least 15 minutes just to heat up, and then the heat level itself is low. But it got to cooking temps within two minutes. Gave my sandwich a golden brown texture after three minutes in the press.

It was... mediocre. Wonder bread doesn't seem to work very well. The texture and taste of it is off. The cheese was unnoticeable. The meat was okay. I could have kept it in the press for an extra minute, but the first test run is what I would consider a failure. I did not use tomato or anything else this time.

Still, the speed of it is promising. My motivation plummets further and further in direct correlation with how long something takes, and knowing it'll take ~10 minutes instead of ~20+ is nice.
Did you butter the bread?

I think the majority of people eat what you would consider garbage bread but the thing is good bread is available here.
"Organizational restructuring"
So much for unions protecting jobs. I'm sorry again dude.

Missouri had them. Did a double take the first time I saw it.

Well, it's not like I didn't already know the union I worked for is kinda evil. They have a whole division devoted to lobbying for oil pipelines FFS.

I either eat it fresh the day I buy it or freeze it for later. (a couple of slices in each bag) It will keep for at least a month.

Butter is good for a bit of flavor and making your hands greasy. I use a panini maker at home without butter and most my sandwiches turn out alright.

wonder bread is the worst kind of bread, but it's suitable for spreads and a quick sammich late at night when there's nothing in the fridge.

I only like Wonder when it's toasted. I assumed pressed would be similar, but seemingly not. Good thing I bought four loaves of it!!

it's a different brand but it's the same kind of bread. possibly less crap, but it's made by the same company that produces wonder bread in Mexico: Bimbo. Most ubiquitous supermarket bread in the country.
