Random Rants 80: Computer Says No

Rant: I felt like playing Zoo Tycoon. I can't find my discs, the game isn't available on GOG or Steam (I would've happily waited for a sale), and I'm not paying 70 dollars for it on Amazon.
 
My new computer's had a shipping delay. It was supposed to arrive today but noooo.:mad:
 
It's a pretty rainbow!
 
It only cost me $1,800:smug:
And completely decimated my savings:cry:
 
But can you use it to make toast?

I have an idea for a toaster add-on that will only take up one or two 5.25' drive bays depending on weather i want 1-slice or 2-slice.
Although i would have to drill a hole in the back of the machine so i can plug the toaster unit into the wall, otherwise it would probably fry the power supply.

Still nothing compared to the Acorn PC that had built-in Pizza oven and a remote-controlled sink.

It's been fall here for a month already (I define fall as when the leaves start to turn). We've had frost warnings, and several people have told me to expect snow by the weekend. If we do get snow, it won't stay more than a day or so. The serious snow doesn't usually come until November.
 
The leaves are changing here, but right now it's summer-humid and thoroughly unpleasant.
 
One of my favourite colleagues, who lives on the east coast, is in town and wants to meet up, but I cannot do so due to a tight work deadline. And insecurity. But mostly the work deadline.

I won't get another chance to meet her for another year at least so it sucks.

Do your best to not let insecurity keep you from a rendezvous. It is tough, but focus on the joy of the opportunity. :)

I stayed up late to work on my project, so now it looks like I can make a meeting. I messaged her and told her I was available to force the (personal) issue. No backing out.

Should be... interesting. To date I've corresponded with my network entirely over the internet, even with some editors who live here or in Seattle. I've been content to just hide in the shadows for over a year. But I guess that has to change eventually. And I guess it'll change now.

Can't wait to make a fool of myself!
