So basically, the argument that more people are killed by gun violence than terrorism is an idiotic logical fallacy being perpetuated by idiotic anti-gun nuts and being swallowed up by an ignorant, poorly educated populace that is demonstrating a clear lack of critical thinking ability by buying into such nonsense.

Don't you think that it would be much more profitable getting angry about the gun violence itself, rather than its popular comparisons?

So I built a massive SOD to conquer the Chinese ....

Yeah, 1upt is best. I can't tell what the hell is going on in that map.

15 War Elephants, 2 Crossbowmen and 3 Pikemen. What an interesting choice of units.

War elephants plus defense against other war elephants plus defense against the defense against war elephants + siege weapons. Makes sense.

Dammit, I made the innuendo too subtle even for them sex-crazed Californians.

way over my head

Well, I'm not the one calling you that. And for the record, you aren't one.

We took a hammering at the pub quiz tonight..

Of course. Which is why I posted this rant here instead of in the more serious discussions related to gun control. I've just been seeing this stat being plastered everywhere and I just had to blow off some steam about it.

But why does it make you so angry? In the grand scheme of things, it's seems like a rather odd thing to get upset over.

Everything is dumb, though
What is the grand scheme of things?
Is the point to ignore smaller problems because there are bigger problems?

I'm rambling

There's no point to anything

It's not that specifically that has me upset. What has me upset is that this is the latest example of the poor critical thinking and intellectual laziness that seems to have taken over in the US. Nobody here seems to stop and think about what they are being told anymore. They just accept it all as gospel because they figure "well they wouldn't say it, if it wasn't at least a little bit true." But what they fail to stop and think about is: The information being presented may be true, but exactly how relevant is it to the issue being raised?
