Random Rants LXXXIX: I HATE MOVING!

I had a similar sense of anxiety about the 2016 election, though it was nowhere near as bad. I still remember my coworkers on our canvassing operation making fun of me on election night by saying Trump would win...they all thought Hillary had it in the bag, I was the only one worried.

I remember the 2016 election happened I was absolutely confused when it happened that Trump won.

It's like the horror outcomes we've had here... the right-wing candidate is so bad that you can't imagine he'd win... and then he does.

It's like the Canadian equivalent of Lyin' Brian and Stephen Harper. The Alberta equivalent is Jason Kenney, who just loves Texas and whose followers also worship Trump.

Doesn't help that some Repubs are already workshopping the idea of just not leaving office. Trump saying he'll let the Supreme Court decide the election. Saying things like Biden shouldn't even be allowed to run. The GOP has set the stage for so much obfuscation.
He's also been calling on both Obama and Biden to go to prison as traitors and a bunch of other insane stuff, like the fact that he should just be given another 4 or 8 years as a result of being impeached.

So many things he does echo banana republic dictators these days. He announced he would be giving away $200 prescription drug vouchers to seniors and it seemed to me an awful like when Chavez was giving away free color TVs in slum districts, except Chavez actually delivered TVs and Trump's vouchers turned out to be imaginary. Same with calling for his political enemies to be imprisoned and the constant calls to vigilante violence by the true believers. Having his son-in-law run everything is another tin-pot-dictator play, and so on.

So yeah, Trump declaring the vote null and void is totally on the table as it is with any dictator that fails to physically stuff ballot boxes.

...ugh... a very good friend just told me that she had a miscarriage last week, in her 2nd month.
Oh boy
They are not uncommon. My wife had two; our daughter one. She needs to trust her body to know when things aren't going well. Still it is sad.

My cousin also had a miscarriage this year, after her first son.

My dentist left a voicemail confirming my appointment at 11:00 AM for Tuesday. Cool. No need to respond.

The next day, they left another voicemail, telling me that since I didn't call them, they rescheduled my appointment to 1:00 PM for Tuesday.

This does not make sense. Why would me not calling lead to my appointment being moved two hours back? The logic escapes me.

Yet another demonstration. Again we have to protest because the government, which already rules by decree, is making a complete mess of things.

And the government doubles down on mischaracterising and oversimplifying protesters and their demands, and just completely messes up the economy and simultaneously utterly fails to contain the spread of Covid-19 and uses armed thugs plus police brutality to strike back.

And I'm not in the U.S. of A.

I know. I think I've read that you shouldn't tell anyone about a pregnancy before the 3rd month, because it happens so often.
Not that it helps .

I started looking up tour schedules for some bands. That was dumb. Jinjer and Wardrunna both canceled Fall shows at theaters downtown here, and with bands plotting tours out a couple of years in advance, in some cases, they aren't simply postponed. I figured I probably wasn't going to find any good news, so I just stopped looking.

Sigh.

So I live nearby a large cluster of dentists. This should mean I get my pick of the crop, but only one dentist of the cohort accepts cripple insurance and bills directly.

I go today, I go through their COVID process, I finally get seated, and then I am informed that they've raised their prices so much that cripple insurance no longer pays out to them. Meaning, I'm on the hook for the full cost right then and there. I immediately say that I can't pay, and they offer a "payment plan" that'd see me paying over $100/mo until into 2021. With my health, no way I can afford that. So I put on a sad enough face and got the cancellation fee waived.

Thank god my dental problems pretty much vanished after my stay in the hospital. There are some issues that will rear their head down the road, but that's a problem for Future Syn!

Hooray for universal health care stopping below the neck! Eyes? Nah, that's a luxury. Teeth? Don't need 'em anyways. Mental health care? Oh it's all in your head anyways.

This, this never end up good, stay save Takhi, and run if you can.
Things are looking up!
It's day #208 of the quarantine and today finally a judge, after yesterday's umpteenth massive demonstration, ruled it unconstitutional for the presidency to make up new laws i.e. modify the Penal Code by decree.
Of course there's the tiny thing about pro-government talking heads on radio stating outright that government supporters should get on a truck and drive into protesters, but everybody knows that it is totally not the same as genocide apology or anything like that, 'cos disagreeing with the government is nowhere near as bad a crime as massacring people who oppose the government.

Opposition is a pivotal element in a democracy, when the government crushing and jailing opposition, and used their supporter as militia to physically threaten oppositions, now that's fascism.

Now about rant:
Emsisoft anti-malware is not that good anymore, so do Malwarebytes, I sense something is wrong with my laptop but they are unable to detect the problem, when I used Ccleaner it said there are thousands of spyware or whatever within my laptop, I check in the forum some poster said that it's a way for ccleaner to attracts user on using full-subscription on the product, what is wrong with ccleaner smh. So I install bitdefender, trouble shooting my problem on signing in to my bitdefender account in order to able to use its program, I went directly to scan my computer system. Then I leave my laptop and do my things, when I went back, it's still 7 percent. Then I sat down, play some online game on the phone, when I finish the game, it's still 7 percent, omg, I just can't believe myself. Then I search in forum, some user even spent 12 hours on a single scan and it's still on-going.

So I just stop the scanning process, and just embrace the oddness of my laptop. I got diarrhea for 2 days already (first day I go to toilet like 20 or 30 times I don't know), I feel energyles, I'm too tired and lazy to do all of this.

One of my bosses keeps coming into my space at work without her mask on. I work in kind of an open space that people come through constantly, and she'll put her mask on if there are other people here, but she seems to have gotten it into her head that if I'm the only one here, she doesn't need it. I've asked her twice now, and each time she's put it on without remark, but then she forgets it again. I feel like a jerk going over her head, and I also resent having to be in a position of having to get mad at her. Also, some dude was eating breakfast on the train this morning. I just got up and went to the next car. The f'ing pandemic's not over, people, no matter how tired of it you are. The rest of us are tired of it, too. Put on your grownup pants.

---

On a related note, I noticed a little red spot on the end of my nose this morning. At first, I thought I had my first case of "maskne." I've done pretty well to avoid it so far, and I figured it was only a matter of time. But then I looked closer, and it actually looks like a little skin abrasion, probably from the nose-wire in the mask. I did try wearing a mask without a wire back in March-April, and it wasn't workable.

Another rant, so after I shut down my computer tried to get some rest, I just realized all of these stuttering that happened in my computer is because Windows 10 decided to do update behind my back. Omg, smh, after I chose the option "shut down and update" I leave the laptop. Later on, unable to sleep, I went back and try to open my laptop. And after the update things get worst, everthing is work like when Neo trying to avoid bullets in the movie matrix. I want to turned off the Windows update but there is no way unless I dig down the regedit following an instruction, or else I can only delay it for couples of day. I hope there is another operating system that is more user-friendly and less patronizing than Windows, but less complicated and more compatible to others program than Linux. I'm sick of Windows 10 obsession in collecting my datas and updating my computer every single freaking week.
