Why is that? During the Kobe earthquake of 1995, taps were left running after earthquake stuff (for lack of a better term) fell on top of them and caused them to run.

That’s what I’ve heard anyway. I live in a building built before 1995 and my taps are pushed down to turn on. But fortunately for me, I don’t have anything above them to trigger them in an emergency.

The club is about as global as it can get, barring someone from Hawaii or Western Asia joining, so finding a time to watch is difficult. We finally settled on 7 AM my time... which is 10 PM for another. I figure me waking up early is a fair compromise since that person needs to stay up late. The people in between are the winners. :mad:

The actual rant here, though, is that the movie club is put indefinitely on hold because Manila internet is garbage and my friend can't get new internet until quarantine is over. She's already put in an application but it's been ignored the past few weeks and she doesn't suspect that will change until they lift the ban, which will last until May. So, boo.
 
The Pi-Hole I installed to block ads across my home network is working too well, as it is stopping Spotify advertisements from playing, which in turn just stops my playlists entirely every time an ad would be played.

Also, there's a shocking number of tracking and ad queries on everything which pisses me right off. Not news to anyone, but still the Pi-Hole dashboard does really bring it home...

Something I learned in the SCA is that "ap" is a Welsh patronymic. I occasionally use the word "pro" in sentences that include the phrase "pro author". I'm not saying I'm in favor of authors (though I am), but in that context it means "professional authors" as opposed to fanfic authors.

My only solution that worked was tapping a senior citizen connection to score a few rolls.

They can shop at stores 1 hour before anyone else these days.
 
Rant: I keep going between "hey, my fanfic is actually pretty good!" and "IT'S THE WORST THING POSSIBLE WHY DO I EVEN BOTHER."

This is mildly irritating. :dunno:
 
New rant:

I decided to downgrade Mozilla Thunderbird. I specifically had auto-updating disabled.

It updated itself anyways.
