Most of the time when someone disappears off the net, we never do know what's happened to them. Sorry for the loss of your friend.
She spent a lot of time and energy on the Cheezburger site - absolutely loved cats, and she created or hosted some of the groups and activities that have gone on there for years in her friends circle - things as diverse as a summer camp for cats and kittens, co-hosting a book club, and so on.
Her husband knew how important the site and her friends were (she'd been there for many years), and he posted ongoing updates after they knew her cancer was terminal and she could no longer log on herself.
If you ever see any cat lolpics that are attributed to "sylviag" - that will be one of hers.

I've always believed that the debate is the point of debating on CFC: OT, and that if you don't believe the debate is worth it then there's no point in posting on ot because you aren't going to hangs anyone's mind. The jackelgull of a year ago hands down believed the debate was worth it. The jackelgull of today doesn't . Especially after he last few threads I've been a part of.

Would you rather not have CFC or the lesbian subreddit or other such communities? Death is just part of life. Of course it hurts, but what else can we do?

You are right, it is just that i feel zero empathy for someone dying, because of my religious views. Therefore I tried to rationalize it a bit to see if it changes anything for me.
Nah, it has to do with a lawn care guy mistaking politeness for weakness and me having to disabuse him of that notion.
Unrelated rant/rave: Some 18 year old girl just messaged me on Twitter and was begging me to be her daddy (like in a sexual way). I have no idea who this girl is and I thought she was joking so I played along and it seems as though she is dead serious.

Sorry, if someone is insulted by this, but Americans really seem to be into incest. I don't know any other culture wherein you can be someone's daddy "in a sexual way". And it doesn't stop even here, there's "sexy mommies" and in love songs the object of love may be sister... It's highly weird.
Then there's the American trope of over "protecting" father, who doesn't want anyone to have sex with her daughter, which people every where else in the world recognize as incestuous jealousness.
Or the insult that refers to people engaging in coitus with their mothers, which thoug, I believe isn't nonexistent in UK or Southern Europe either, but which I at least found absolutely appalling when learning it's meaning. (Although, as an insult, that's it's purpose, so it's a job well done).
You can tell when someone you are talking to online is for real or not. Plus I'm part of some communities on Twitter that have nothing to do with sex but have teenage fans that have weird sexual fetishes.

I mean, I'd generally be suspicious of an apparent 18 year old being that quick to get raunchy, but then again, I have a friend who had a woman from a discord channel he hangs out in start hitting on him by like day 2 and start talking about milk enemas by day 3.
