How to migrate a web server:

1) Find out a month ahead of time your old server is no longer going to be available.
2) Two weeks before old server is no longer available, bring up new server on cheap hosting site that can't handle the load.
3) Discover reason why cheap hosting site is so cheap.
4) Find reasonable web server that can handle the load and migrate software second time.
5) Test new server extensively so customers won't be inconvenienced.
5) Three days prior to old server being shut down, inform everybody what the new IP address is so they can access it while DNS is updating.
6) ...
7) Profit.
