Worst case scenario is they've lost my dissertation (all three copies of it) and, as a result, "Student did not complete sufficient modules" and I'm therefore ineligible to graduate.

Did you not get a receipt from the university when you gave them your dissertation?
I guess that happens here for some reason.

I have a horrible take-home exam, and it won't go away until Monday. This is not what summer holidays are meant to be like!

Better get it done fast, so that you can enjoy the rest of the time .
