Working at a bakery :D?
Me? Working? :rotfl:
That's one of the perks of being British, I suppose. Whilst we were beating up languages in dark alleys and rifling through their pockets for loose words, they were spreading their culture by stealth to us!
There are foreign words galore, n'est ce pas?
Pip pip old bean.

Definitely hotter then the same time last year, I hope things don't get worse next year.
The heat itself could become poisonous, as most other things in Australia already are…
You're as bad as my sister, who lives in the Middle East and who texted me one Christmas to complain that it was 25 degrees outside and she was wearing a cardigan to convince herself it was winter!
Nah, sisters are worse by definition. I mean, she's your sister!
You should consider making the move now JoanK. Ditch the uni and come and sell cars with me. No one will be able to resist the charms of my young handsome Catalan.
Spaniard, for two more years… two!
My oldest cat, aged about 18.5, is gonna pass away soon. :(
How many are there in the clowder?

I own 3. 2, including the old one I mentioned, live with my parents, as by the time I moved out, we all feared he was already too old to move (and to have to adjust to an entirely new house of cats, as the family friend had several of her own), and my other one at my folks had multiple traumatic experiences because the old one that's passing kept violently attacking her, and so I fear introducing her to the one cat of mine who does live with me (the tuxedo cat I've posted a few pictures of here on occasion) would also have too difficult of a time, as Bobo is quite territorial regarding other pets (she's very affectionate with humans though).

Also, my folks have several cats of their own, thus the reason for the potential for difficulties in relocating my cats, I believe.

Cheers, cheers for me and my brilliantness! :yup:

I am so so so so smart I completely forgot my EXTREMELY IMPORTANT Calculus exam started 3 hours ago, roughly half an hour after I woke up (I had been awake for a lot of time, so I checked the time and it was much later than I thought). So guess what, I didn't go there and I didn't do it! :woohoo:

Yaaaay, say goodbye to that nice future of yours say it: goodbyeeeee! :wavey:

I just want to jump from somewhere very high. :(

We have been over this dude. I really wish you'd stop and listen.

It is not a big deal.

I failed pre-algebra when I first went to community college. Yet I recently finished up differential equations. The effect of failing pre-algebra on my academic career?

Nothing.

Calm down, you will be fine. I promise. :)

I get it, I really do. I have been there myself many times. Please understand that you have no perspective, you're in the thick of it so it all seems absolutely critical. You may not have ever faced failure before and it seems you don't like your major.

All those things add up to one stressful situation. But you're an awesome, smart, handsome and funny guy. When you talk about jumping off a building over a GRADE, it makes me want to pay a visit to my relatives in Madrid so they can help me scour the countryside, looking for you so I can beat the stuffing out of you.

Just calm down. You still rock dude. It's a grade, that's it.

Seems like, subconsciously, you're smart enough to not bother taking an exam you know you're going to fail. Which is how come you didn't turn up for the exam. Despite your best conscious efforts to do so.

Heresy! Madrid? I live in Barcelona! :p

Thanks for your support. :)

Get out of that course. You don't want to do it. I'm sure I remember you saying that you chose to do it out of a sense of obligation, instead of doing what you really wanted (history or something?). Trust me, I have experience in this. I blew 12 months and a few thousand dollars on a Computer Science course that I never really wanted to be doing, just because I like playing computer games, before switching to my Statistics course. Switch into something you enjoy, it makes the world of difference. Don't worry about the job opportunities, or the career paths, do it because you WANT to do it, not because you might get a good job.

First I want to see the next semester's subjects. And by see I of course mean take some classes. If I really don't like it, then yes I will ditch it.

This is a good plan. You aren't paying out the rear for classes though, are you?

Huhmm? I'm afraid I didn't get that.

Huhmm? I'm afraid I didn't get that.

I am asking if you have to pay a whole lot of money to take next semester's courses. If so, you may want to reconsider taking them just to see what they're about and switch to another major that you'll enjoy. Otherwise, I think you're plan is solid.

It can easily cost upwards of $10,000/semester at many US universities - so I'd advocate not taking another semester of iffy classes you will probably hate to an American. I don't know how expensive college is in Spain.

Nah, you pay for the whole year at the beginning, iirc. It was a bit more than 2,200€.

Public universities. And of quite high quality. The joy of a welfare state.

My public, high quality university costs $7000/semester, and it was $16,000/semester before I got local residency. That's certainly rant-worthy.
