I'd like to post in the raves thread that I don't have to do that massive amount of baking anymore, but I still have to cook on Tuesday for a growing number of people (when it was decided we were 5, now we're 9), and that's also a challenge .

Now that is a challenge. A lot bigger than the cake challenge, in my opinion. 6 is about the maximum I'm happy catering for.

A real nightmare of saucepan sizes and timing.

Argh, this article says that there is a sweepstakes contest where you write an essay that people will vote on to determine who wins a trip into space. The contest exists, but there is no essay requirement. You just sign up, which is a let down. I can write pretty convincingly about why I need to go into outer space. Or at least convincingly enough to make better odds for myself than what I'd get from a random pull out of a box.

Desert will be a cake (prepared on Sunday), main menu probably with noodle salad (can be prepared a day before), and else...don't know. Still have to talk to my mother, she knows what to do .

Yeah, lots of little side dishes are favourite, I've found. So that a) you can prepare a lot of things beforehand and b) people can pick and choose.

But that sort of thing is best in summer with cold stuff and salad. So, how about a big lump of fish, fowl or meat? Bung it in the oven. And pray. After turning the oven on. But still, you've only got a tiddly oven, eh?

Sorry to hear that. My rant is that I may have lost the opportunity to retake the exam sincr now we have a couple weeks off (during which these re-taken exams take place) and I forgot to comment it to the professor.

Also I didn't have lunch. But that really isn't a rant, since I barely feel the difference.

Not exactly summer, and yeah, we don't really have an oven, good suggestions though. But I guess this will still somehow work .
