I was getting old files off of floppy disks and some of them were in a proprietary format and the program used to open it (some word processor) didn't work too great on Vista.

I still don't know why it BSOD'd though.

well it kind of sucks when the government cuts its internship positions due to budget issues.

But, I wouldn't have really gotten those internships anyways. But it does kind of suck to apply for things in ~september, to hear back sometime in march or february (well, hear further if selected for interview. You never hear back otherwise), and then hear now that the position selection process was delayed and now ultimately cut due to budget.

I'm like John Hamm, clothes become restrictive for me:

Mad Men insider says Jon Hamm’s “impressive anatomy” is distracting to viewers, was asked to wear underwear on set under 1960’s clothing.

Spoiler :

Lately, the name Jon Hamm and the word “bulge” have become synonymous.

A quick Google search for the Mad Men star will prove just that, and it seems the cast and crew of Hamm’s hit AMC television series won’t let him forget his past trouser offenses.

According to the New York Daily News' Confidenti@l, an AMC insider said the “well-endowed” actor was instructed to wear underwear while filming certain scenes of the 1960’s TV show, due to the era’s tight-fitting clothing.

“This season takes place in the 1960s, where the pants are very tight and leave little to the imagination,” said the source. And it gets better: “Jon’s impressive anatomy is so distracting that they politely insisted on underwear.”

It seems that Hamm’s “impressive anatomy” was so much of a distraction, the show’s marketing team had to Photoshop many of the billboards, promotional posters and ad campaigns relating to the show due to the prominent appearance of Jon Jr.

“Imagine how distracting that would be on the side of a bus or building,” the unnamed insider said. “When the promotional pictures came back the first few seasons, we had to work with them. Everyone was concerned about too much Christina Hendricks boob, but it’s Jon that has the most to show. It’s a good problem to have.”

But Jon Hamm’s rep disagrees that his anatomical excess is a “good problem,” saying, “It is ridiculous and not really funny at all. I’d appreciate you taking the high road and not resorting to something childish like this that’s been blogged about 1,000 times.”

While we could make a pro and con list debating the worth of Hamm’s, er, Ham—it’s clear the actor doesn’t mind showcasing what Mother Nature gave him. In September of last year, Hamm and longtime girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt went on a shopping trip to Barneys, and when paparazzi snapped a photo of the pair, it became clear who the real star of the snapshot was. (Yes, his penis.) And a few weeks later, he committed the same offense, stepping outside in some (un)fortunately super-clingy pants. “Jon is a big boy but sometimes it can be distracting,” one insider said of the incident.

A big boy, indeed.

Sorry. I just felt like ranting for a bit. That's better now, thank you.

I suppose I should be alarmed.

Well big letters.

Sometimes I end up forgetting my own name. It's frustrating.

Also, another rant: VirtualBox guest additions don't work with Windows 98. I looked up if they were going to make any but they aren't because apparently not enough "paying customers" want it. That makes me upset.

I did manage to get a third-party video driver working though.

I have a three hour lecture tomorrow. Tomorrow is Saturday.

Better than 8 hours.
Or at 8 in the evening.
Because the university can't get their organization straight.

But good that I don't have to care about this anymore :D.

:hide:

But yeah, I can feel with you.

Remember my big rant a few weeks ago about my laptop?

Yeah. :( It's busted for good. :( Gotta get a new one.

At least I have a back-up. Albeit a crappy one. :(

Which driver was it? i tried windows 98 on a virtual machine, i had to abandon it cause i could not find a video driver for it.

Can't get comfortable on this PoS couch, can't stop being irritated, and most of all, can't get rid of this feeling. And all three of these are perpetuating themselves.

The hell?
