At least you are on your way to getting a job. I wasn't able to for the summer so now I get to hack away at the jungle our garden has evolved into.

Yeah dude, Safeway/CVS/etc. are basically always hiring. They aren't the best jobs, but they beat no income. Apply online, then bring a resume in in person. Make sure to list your availability on the resume, and reemphasize it when you hand the resume in (They LOVE people who will work holidays and late shifts). Follow up several days later on the phone. You pretty much just have to bug the hell out of the manager until he hires you. Eventually you get hired and get to complain constantly about how crappy the job actually is.

I feel alone. I feel helpless and hopeless and miserable. And I don't like that. I don't really have a reason to be like this. I'm just overthinking things.

Write some brony slash fiction. It will at least keep you occupied.

Good longbows are expensive.

You can buy bows at Target?

You stayans are a strange bunch, I have to go all the way up to Bass Pro Shop in Gurnee for mine

Here they're not.

Lucky. I'm stuck with either the occasional weak (45lbs or under) bow at a store half an hour across the river, or expensive but good stuff online. The one I'm looking at is maybe $300. There are also some good composite bows made by Kassai Lajos himself, but they can be 200 Euros plus 130 Euros in shipping. The best Manchurian bow there costs 1,300 Euros!

Sounds somehow normal for me. I think my sister has one of these, and that's the normal price range for a good bow, from what I've heard.

Is one of those bows actually made of desert ironwood?! It doesn't look like it, but that's rare, beautiful, and expensive stuff.

Well, now I consider myself lucky since Three Rivers Archery has much better prices.

"Better" is relative. e.g. I think the BlackWidows also have live long guarantee and some more stuff, and if you're really into it, then it might be worth the money.
At the other hand: My sister is a pro, and she probably needs a different bow than you do.

EDIT: I might maybe forward here that link, to hear what she says about it.

Ah. I'm just a poor college student and can't afford much, and I can't shoot very often. By the time I could afford a Black Widow I'd have gone into heavy composite bows and if at all possible, horse archery. In the meantime I'll have to settle for Three Rivers.

You do get the joke I hope?

To be fair, chains sell different things in different places, and Wal-Mart actually sells shotguns and rifles over here, so it's not unreasonable to believe someone who claims that a store sells bows. Even when that someone is a known Australian.:p

All good in the hood, as long as the pun aspect of archery gear being sold at Target hasn't slipped by him (which pales into insignificance in comedic terms with being able to buy shotguns at Walmart).
