It seems the more educated a woman gets, the more fiercely independent they become. While the dumber the woman gets, the more they like to play into their pre-described niche. This can plateau for a bit but it shows kind of clearly when the woman is actually more knowledgeable than most guys. I'm saying this only because I recently got a grilling by a girl after I showed her the Hilliary Clinton getting angry in the Conga clip and me making light about it.

I never bothered dissected how it is with guys though.

How is a girl grilling you for making fun of Hillary being independent or a sign of being educated? It seems to me like typical ignorant feminist behavior.

Agreed, there are some feminists who are very ignorant. Not saying this girl is, just throwin it out there. :p

My parents just bought a $17,000 car and are still planning their yearly cruise with my brother; I don't see why they can't help me with $3,500 of tuition.

Well.. that's not really what I said. More like my Hilary joke produced a virulent reaction because of the girl was genuinely independent-minded and therefore STRONGLY supported Hilliary's reaction which it seems is the result of her meaningful education and or vocation, blah blah blah blah. While another dumb lady I showed it too just laughed and supported her in that typical wanna be independent/wanna be a woman attitude most women seem to possess(this can include "typical ignorant feminist behavior" if you want..). But seriously, I really don't think the person I'm talking about is the product of ignorance much.. even though your look at it is certainly understandable. Also, my posts are not anthropological treatises meant for Cambridge. Just go with the flow, dud3 : )

That's terrible. I also feel for you. Coming from my old haunt, I knew a lot of people who worked their way through school. It's tough. But at least you'll still be ahead of the rest who didn't work by having work experience. That helps in the short and long run.

I can't get iTunes to open. AGAIN.

The saga of Mr. and Mrs. of Arcadia's attempt to get Comcast to connect the Internet:

sometime before Friday, 7/31: the then-future Mrs. of Arcadia sets an appointment for someone to connect the internet in the apartment sometime in the morning on Friday, 7/31. TTFMoA explains she will be getting married the next day and so they should come by first thing.

Friday, 7/31: No one shows up. TTFMoA calls, asks what's up. They explain that they rescheduled it for Tuesday, 8/4. She said she was never told of this. They told her they sent an email. She explains that there may be a flaw in that plan, given that the lack of internet access (which they are to provide) limits her ability to check her email, and that her cell phone number is right there in their system. Furthermore, she will be out of town on 8/4. Yells at customer service rep, yells at manager. They say they will send someone by Monday, 8/10, in the morning. She points out that she is employed and often at work, and that they will need to come by at 8pm on 8/10. They agree.

Sometime between 7/31 and 8/10: The now-current Mrs. of Arcadia checks her email, doesn't see one from Comcast.

8/10, 8pm: No one comes by.

8/11, 3:30 pm: Mrs. of Arcadia receives a phone call from a Comcast technician; he will be by in a half hour to set it up. She explains that she is at work, can he return at 7pm. He informs her that no one works that late (presumably, she is lying to him; unless he means no Comcast employee works that late, in which case they lied to her earlier about sending someone by at 8) and that he is almost at the house. She tells him if she hurries over she can be there in a half hour. He tells her that will be too late, raising serious concerns about the veracity of his previous claim to be a half hour away, and that she should call to make another appointment.

8/11, 3:45pm: Mrs. of Arcadia calls Verizon to see how much their internet service is.

Comcast is evil. Good move.

Having recieved internet from both Verizon and Comcast, I can tell you that the cost is roughly the same.

Which means that all Verizon has to do is show up and they are far and away the winner here.

Serves you right for buying Apple products.

Agreed. Zune all the way! In rants, I clicked on a link to TV Tropes and the next time I looked at the clock it was an hour later. Curse you TV Tropes!
