The saga of Mr. and Mrs. of Arcadia's attempt to get Comcast to connect the Internet:
sometime before Friday, 7/31: the then-future Mrs. of Arcadia sets an appointment for someone to connect the internet in the apartment sometime in the morning on Friday, 7/31. TTFMoA explains she will be getting married the next day and so they should come by first thing.
Friday, 7/31: No one shows up. TTFMoA calls, asks what's up. They explain that they rescheduled it for Tuesday, 8/4. She said she was never told of this. They told her they sent an email. She explains that there may be a flaw in that plan, given that the lack of internet access (which they are to provide) limits her ability to check her email, and that her cell phone number is right there in their system. Furthermore, she will be out of town on 8/4. Yells at customer service rep, yells at manager. They say they will send someone by Monday, 8/10, in the morning. She points out that she is employed and often at work, and that they will need to come by at 8pm on 8/10. They agree.
Sometime between 7/31 and 8/10: The now-current Mrs. of Arcadia checks her email, doesn't see one from Comcast.
8/10, 8pm: No one comes by.
8/11, 3:30 pm: Mrs. of Arcadia receives a phone call from a Comcast technician; he will be by in a half hour to set it up. She explains that she is at work, can he return at 7pm. He informs her that no one works that late (presumably, she is lying to him; unless he means no Comcast employee works that late, in which case they lied to her earlier about sending someone by at 8) and that he is almost at the house. She tells him if she hurries over she can be there in a half hour. He tells her that will be too late, raising serious concerns about the veracity of his previous claim to be a half hour away, and that she should call to make another appointment.
8/11, 3:45pm: Mrs. of Arcadia calls Verizon to see how much their internet service is.
