I never got what's so addicting about TV Tropes. Every time someone links it, I try to read the article, but after the first paragraph it just gets boring/not interesting.

Now, Wikipedia on the other hand...

Every time someone posts a link to one of them, i get lost in those pages for a long time, so I do find it incredibly addictive.

last night my mom left the phone off the hook so the "beep-beep..... beep-beep" was keeping me awake all night and I couldnt find what it was. Im exhausted

Well hopefully next time you'll go straight for the telephone. Is your mother deaf? The beeps from the telephone are hard to miss.

Half-deaf. And asleep.

Why cant there be a pill to get rid of my egotism and jealousy as well as grant me self esteem and confidence?!

There is, but the UN has found out about my plans to use it for World Domination so they've been banned.

Rant: it confuses me when people edit the names in the quotes :(

Duncan Idaho

What the.???

Why not something more... dignified, maybe Mrs. Petty or something?

Duncan Idaho is awesome. You should be honored.

Duncan Idaho is the name of the ghola in the book Dune that is mentored by the Mentat-Bashar Miles Teg, formerly of the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood. (Did he ever leave it, or was he just on retirement? I don't remember Heretics that well).

Anyhow, Duncan Idaho was a famed swordsman and guard of House Atreides. He died fighting the Sardaukar of the Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV Corrino on Arrakis before he was brought back to life as a Mentat by the Bene Tleilaxux (in cooperation with the Bene Gesserit and House Corrino) as a 'gift' to Muad'Dib, the Kwisatz Haderach, Paul Atriedes.
