rave: new GPU arrived a full week ahead of projection

I had an issue with my online takeout order (a substitution was made without my permission). The rave part of this is because when I complained to customer service, the agent gave me a much more generous refund than I'd expected.

Second rave: I got a crazy new idea for a crossover fanfic. But that's not something I plan to do anything about until after NaNoWriMo is done (one week to go, I'm weeks behind, but like the Energizer Bunny, I keep going...).

Every Friday on the radio station, they feature misheard lyrics that were submitted by listeners. I went and submitted one and they featured it. :)

This time I had the sense to do it via email. I once borrowed my mother's phone to make a song request but they couldn't understand what I was saying and played a completely different song.

So what was your misheard lyrics?

In Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' "American Girl," "microwaves crashing on the beach." Very first time I heard it, close to eleven years ago. It was absurd enough that I figured out the right lyrics right away.

My favorite is: "It's hard to find nice things on a four-sided cow."
But one must admire Flashdance's: "Take you pant's down, and make it happen."

I believe the Shaq did a special version on LSB.

Edit: no, somebody else did. The Shaq did the maniac song.

I've read the lyrics for Dexy Midnight Runners' "Come On Eileen" some dozen times and still can't figure out half of the lines in that song.

Interestingly enough, some people think the Picasso in Chicago might be a four sided cow, and I met someone there who I did eventually talk out of her pants...but not right there in Daley Plaza which would have been extra cool.

Did they fit you? Was she wearing pants of a style that you need for your fashionable look that season? She must have been pretty tall. Did you at least give her your pants in trade?

Suffice to say I got out of mine as well, though no trade of pants ensued. Life and times of a young and single sailor.

I'm older than you. I can remember the '90s.

*is reminded of the Spice Girls and experiences gag reflex*

I was a '90s kid, but weirdly enough the only thing I can remember from the 1990s is seeing a Y2K-compliant flashlight.
