The basic problem, aside from the bots, is that for men, online dating is like competing with thousands of people while filing hundreds of job applications to employers who enjoy ghosting you in the middle of the hiring process, and for women, online dating is like browsing aisles full of products that catcall and leer at you.

There are few single women of my type and age here, so for that and other reasons, in-person is a no-go too.

Message a hundred and you can expect a single-digit number of low-effort replies. You will never receive messages yourself unless you're extremely attractive or it's nothing more than a lazy "hey".

I got a call from my boss this morning, and she got a raise approved for me! She's been working for months to get this for me, and she doesn't know how much it's going to be yet, but I'm definitely going to get a good raise next year! I'm technically getting a promotion, well it's a sort of "soft promotion" like my employment level went up, if I'm making sense? But that's better than what I could normally get with just my regular performance evaluation, I really appreciate her putting in so much effort to take care of me, life can be good when you have a really good boss

I was very hesitant to promise employees things since i got burned a few times by upper management. Ant the worst thing to lose is your staff's faith.
Even if they feel you did everything you could, it hurts the relationship.
