Buttered pancakes? Surely, lemon and sugar are the only prescribed accompaniments. :p

They are good that way, but they're pretty grand with just butter too.

First thing I did today getting in at work after an extended holiday was to check by calendar to make sure I had no such meetings scheduled today ;)

Oh boy... a day without meetings... nearly like holidays

As I get closer to retirement, I find fewer people have the desire to meet with me

Bah, my daughter doesn't even use syrup, just butter.
My daughter went through that phase too. But you are wrong about thin pancakes. Thick fluffy ones are clearly best. :p

Too filing. I've been on the thin side my whole life and would like to at least pretend to stay that way for awhile longer. ;)

Fellas.

Ignore this butter and syrup nonsense.

Dutch pancakes. Line the center with powdered sugar. Roll it up. Enjoy. You can even put fruit in it.

You'll never look back.

You probably like thin pizza too. Quite sad really. And in case you have forgotten, a two inch high stack of think pancakes and a two inch high stack of thick pancakes are pretty similar. :)

I substitute honey for sugar in most of my recipes whenever I can (like in my pancakes for example). My tummy doesn't react well to sweets, I get very sick.

I'll learn to make dutch pancakes for you, but I'll only fill them with fruit and not powdered sugar. I'll let you know how it goes.

HONEY?!

This is just getting worse and worse.

I refer you to my avatar, young lady!

Oh, right, uh, raves. Here's a rave: I have an issue with regretting what I say while I'm upset. It's not that I disagree with what I said, it's more that being upset makes me handle the situation poorly. I'm not as clear and what I say is more susceptible to being misconstrued. I was fairly upset last night with someone and I read back over what I sent them this morning and I didn't have that same "I regret this." feeling with it. I think I handled it well, and I largely feel that even with a cooler head I would have said the same things. I like that a lot.

1. Yes, I like thin pizza too despite living in Chicago. But I'm Italian so I am forgiven.
2. 3 thin pancakes are not as tall as 3 thick pancakes and I order by number, not height. :)

If I "ordered" by number or height, my wife would likely ignore me and then tell me to get my own. Congrats on 35 years.

Since I was a short order cook in my younger days, I am the only one "allowed"   to cook breakfast in our household.

Unfortunately I was also a dishwasher in my younger days so am also the only one "allowed" to clean the kitchen.

That's how you stay married for 33 years. ;)

33, 35, They all begin to run together after a while. Yes there are "tricks" that keep couples sane and together. We are coming up on a much bigger number.

Yes they do. I actually had to think about the actual number) And I applaud all those that last long since it does indeed require effort when many give up at the first few bumps. (abuse is something different)

I'm surrounded by neanderthals.
The world doesn't end at your bathroom mirror.

Mary is 50% older than you are, boy. Mind your elders.

But I do agree that honey is not the best addition. Pancakes ought to be covered in the aforementioned lemon and sugar or the confection known as dulce de leche (trans. milkzoet, misspell it at doce de leite within my eyesight at your bodily personal peril).

Oh dear, I don't mean I put honey on my pancakes, I mean I put it in my pancakes. I'm talking about when I'm mixing my batter, I substitute honey instead of sugar. I'm so terribly sorry for causing confusion!

I only put pure maple syrup on my pancakes.
