Well I should say I just moved about 1.5 months ago and so I just googled him. He seems to align with my major political beliefs and on the issues I care most about. Not everything of course, but seems very pragmatic and based in facts.

but anyways, guess to bore the thread I get represented by bill foster, former Fermilab phd scientist democrat who I seem to align with as far as science and energy policy goes -- and at face value I would trust what he mentions in regards to those policies compared to many -- and seems generally supportive of democrat economic policies. Someone who at least can work on doing their job and not be all about pomp and circumstance, even if I disagree on some issues.
Just found out about this. This seems good for peace in the region, and whether the Israeli government has finally realized that Palestinians are people too, or just sees the political and diplomatic opportunities are worth it, I'm glad to see that they're going to make sure the Palestinian population doesn't face massive water shortages.
I've thought about upgrading, but my laptop with Windows 7 is old enough that it probably wouldn't even be able to make full use of the new features anyway. Seems to me like I'd get minimal benefits from upgrading, even if 10 is a little better. If I had a newer, more powerful machine that could actually run things like DirectX 12 and touchscreen integration, I'd probably consider it a little more strongly.
I upgraded last night, but I'm using my default local account and I turned off every snooping option that I could find. I also had to fiddle with the themes so that I didn't get a distracting broad white strip at the top of every window.
Vista on my ageing Dell M1530 here so I'm not getting 10 for free. And I'm not forking over all that money just for a new OS. I'd like something lighter and snappier with Win 10 but I can't bring myself to buying a new one as long as my current one keeps running relatively fine.
If people really want to find out what I'm up to, various government bodies exist to do just that. I'm more interested in making it as hard as possible for the corporations to do that.

I read an article a while back that said the options to turn off those snooping features don't really turn them off. Microsoft just put those options there to make people think they have a choice when they really don't.
