well I beat the vanilla game of Spelunky
it actually seemed pretty lackluster to me. That may be counter intuitive since I did spend a whole heck of a lot of time to beat it, but I basically did a lot of risky behaviour in a lot of my games (that resulted in deaths) since I thought there was 20 levels (4 levels per stage) total to beat but the base game is actually only 16. The next 4 are part of bonus stage: 5-1, 5-2, 5-3, 5-4, that you have to unlock by getting a certain item. There are some bonus/special levels throughout too, but I would have beaten it sooner I think if I didn't die a lot trying to optimize my standing to reach a 5th level.

I don't get why people are so crazy about Spelunky. Seemed like a crappy platformer to me.
Semi raves / rants:
Rant - the microwave grill broke
Rave - It got fixed
Ultra Rave - they replaced what was a 1000w microwave with a 2000w one
Ultra Rant - They didnt change / update the front dial (its a built into a kitchen cabinet microwave).
The automatic settings that once cooked all my frozen foods perfectly are now overcooking my food, while the grill cant keep up with the double power microwave, e.g.
Frozen pizzas used to cook perfectly in 10 minutes. Now they go all brown with bubbling cheese in just 6 minutes. Sounds great at first, except the base of the pizza gets completely overcooked and dries / crisps out while the topping isnt hot enough because the old grill unit is not up to par with the double power microwave.
But I can sort it out by manually adjusting the microwave power with the grill switched on too, but I will need to go through all the different wattages to find the right settings.
Other e.g, my custard used to cook in 2 min, remove mix, 1.30 at 1000w. Now it cooks in 1.30, remove mix, 30s
Wow, but they were too cheapskate to update the dial, so it also still displays 1000w max which is actually 2000w now, and 90w min which becomes 180w. First world problems.
