Depends on whether you think an online education would be your best bet.

Are you thinking SIUC is online?

Though I'm sure those options will be expanded by the time either of us want to go for it. The thing in SIU's favor is that you could probably go for it quicker than you would at other places, if you have a good GMAT.

I'm not sure how most MBA's work, but are some more prestigious just from the university that offered it?

Yay, I'm stupid. The catalog was online, the classes are not!

Then the downside is that you'd have to be in Southern Illinois for it.

As always. But it's still a very good mark in your favor if you get one, period. But there are also those that are known to be of better quality (or just more selective), even if it isn't Ivy League, that would work in your favor, also.

But, with everything, I think you'd do better doing it at a place you feel comfortable being there, not only because of the name. You'll get your way, anyway.

My 2 cents on "prestige": it depends on the field.

Example: the top Ivies (Harvard/Yale/Princeton) are good at, well, everything, and will take you wherever you want to go. But after that, things get more subjective.

Personal example: I'd rather get my econ PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, UIUC, or UC San Diego than at Brown, even though Brown is an Ivy, because those other schools have better micro theory groups.

I'd assume that MBAs are similar: some schools that are top 20-50 overall (or lower!) have specializations that push them into the top 20 in that particular field (whatever the concentrations are for MBAs nowadays).

/2 cents :)

Bumped because

I'M ON THANKSGIVING BREAK! NO SCHOOL FOR NINE DAYS! Then we have midterms the week we get back...

Yeah, my 'goal' is 1000 by the end of the year:

4 posts/day on the "What are you listening to..." thread
2 raves/day
1 rant/day
3 actual, substansive posts/day
That's 10 posts per day, or 300 posts per month, which will cover it.

I micromanage too much...

(In another forum I frequent, a poster just did 1000 posts in 9 days. That's procrastination.)
Problems with your plan: :p

1) the posts in "what are you listening to" aren't counted since they are moved to a non-PC forum after they are closed :p
2) there will be numerous days in which you will simply NOT be able to keep this "schedule". From my experience, you must post in a normal day of posting at least 2 times more than your average posts per day, to keep that said PPD. Because there will be lots of days you miss and you don't realize (don't forget Christmas is coming up ,etc)
3) I doubt you could plan how many things you can rant or rave about in a day, or if those threads are even going to be around until the end of the year. Maybe if you try hard you will be able to keep this rythm, but isn't it better just to post as many rants/raves as you feel like? ;)

:D

(don't take this seriously; I was only making a joke reply to your post)

I'll find other joke threads to post in. And if all else fails, I could, you know, contribute to discussions! Nah...
:D

^ :( I still have to make about 1200 posts to be on the first page... assuming nobody else is posting at all. :( And when I last checked anyone with over 11,000 posts was on the first page, but I was way behind.
