What if instead of evolving to see photons at a certain frequency of the electromagnetic spectrum, we could see sarcasm.

You can be the penguin that teaches all the other penguins that diversity is okay.
Penguins had same-sex relationships and parenting worked out long before humans did (as in it's just something some of them do, and the others don't judge). I recall what a fuss some people made when a same-sex penguin couple at a zoo wanted to adopt an unclaimed egg, hatch it, and raise the chick. Apparently that was "sinful."

IIRC the Commandments do not apply to penguins. Of course, I'm a Papist, so your Bible Belters might disapprove.

The Commandments don't say anything about marriage being between a man and woman (or male penguin and female penguin). It just says to honor your father and mother and don't covet your neighbor's wife.

...nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is his.

Seems a bit comprehensive, to me. I'm frightened even to look at them now.

Where is the thread on CFC about Trump breaking USA off Paris climate change thing? For some reason I got pretty much disturbed when I found none.

Is it that nobody takes him serious anymore so there is nothing to discuss? Also, the break off could/would happen only after 2020 which is past his tenure, does it mean it actually holds no weight because the next president could cancel it?

The Raves thread is that way -->

I thought US Presidents are kings of the heap for 4 year terms (possibly two of them, if no-one hates them too badly).
Which would take Trump to 2021 (if my arithmetic is functioning correctly).

But let's all hope his tenure is over long before that, anyway.

Wait, I mean, let's hope he resigns before then. I don't mean he should be assassinated!

There is a lot of people who regularly use OT who from time to time will complain that OT is both a) too American centric, and b) too political centric. And quite frankly Trump has done just so many things which are stupid, illegal, and even treasonous, that if I made a new thread for just every article which is open on my browser right now it would drive everything else off the OT front page.

@Takhisis Big thanks for the article. I was suspecting it being another sensational decision without real consequences, but I wasn't sure. And sometimes all this haze about Trump makes one believe he actually have not done anything serious and impactful yet, he just throws random statements at press.

@Cutlass Of course seeing so much USA/politics related content is annoying from time to time, but it is just that before Trump I had easier way of realising what is important and serious and worth a read and what is not. In my country Trump has been portrayed as a big clown who never speaks the truth, but only just what voters want to hear, therefore I still have no idea what is his true face behind USA #1 facade.

Given the intrinsec power of the office, plus its symbolic importance, plus the sheer presence (online, TV, print media) of whatever he does, even if his actions do seem random and unserious, they always have a significant impact. Even the silly things like having a red button on his desk for a coke on ice, which mocks the whole concept of his being the C-in-C.

Trump is a liar in a massive way. But he's also shallow, narcissistic, and stupid. So he may believe a lot of what he says when he says it. But then he moves on and believes something else. He's also seen to change his mind and then change it back again over and over. It really is like a child with a very short attention span and raging ADHD, and a crippling learning disability on top of that.

Follow what he's actually done. He's betrayed the populist base on many things, and would have done so much more, except that the Republicans in Congress can't get their own act in gear enough to actually deliver on their promises. If they ever do, they'll face a major backlash from all the centrist voters they screw over.

He is ruining American foreign relations. But his claims are that he thinks he's repairing the damage Obama did. When in reality Obama was repairing the damage Bush did. He is selling out all of the nation's interests, and claiming it will make America 'great again'. He is, at every turn, acting like a traitor in Russia's pay. And his hard core supporters think that it's better to be a traitor in the pay of a hostile foreign power than it is to be someone who tries to make life better for the American people. He thinks he and his people are above all ethics rules, and they the laws just don't apply to him.

It's actually really overwhelming. I have a hard time even following the news anymore. I'll give you a list of articles.
