Get your mind out of the gutter. I'm talking about ink on an eraser.

Yes...that's rather the joke.

If that's a joke, you're not doing a very good job of telling it.
Oh, Jebus...

On account of several different, largely unrelated, occurances on this board i am this close to making a proclamative post explaining the general concept of...
...humor.

Don't. Push it.
Unless you are up for it.

An explanation of humor.

By a German.

It's gonna be rectangular.

:p

News commentators are pointing out how Trump's tweeting the word "ban" is hurting the case for his travel ban in the courts, including the Supreme Court, because the administration had previously been at pains not to use that word, not to call it a ban, since he had spoken of a Muslim ban during the campaign.

I would go further and say that by virtue of when he is issuing these tweets (in the wake of an attack in London by Muslims but Muslims not from the countries in his ban) he is in effect acknowledging that his ban is a Muslim ban. If the time that he feels a special need for such a ban is when Muslims have committed an atrocity somewhere, he clearly understands it as fundamentally a ban on Muslims not on people from some set of countries that just happen to be majority Muslim.

Just sayin' what he's in effect sayin'

We should send Borachio's eraser around the world.

My wife was howling in several parts, so it must have at least a few things accurate to Prairie Germans over here. I wanted to be offended, but the examples she offered were largely accurate.

Seems like fairly conventional humour to me.

As for erasers, I remember Noddy had a magic one with which he went around rubbing out various bits of reality. (I don't recall what his strategy was for deciding what to rub out. I suspect it was all on a whim really.)

Now, I'm not saying that my eraser is that good.

But for those willing to take a chance that it isn't: for a mere £40 (+VAT, postage and packaging), I'll let you try it out.

And if it doesn't work, you can return it to me, and I'll keep it, and the money.

Sounds like a winning scheme to me.

He was on HIGNFY last week. He has a strong accent, but I do like him.

Bought the Witcher 3 expansion pass on GOG, and now I have The Witcher3 and The Witcher 3 GOTY in my library as separate games, and the I don't have any achievements for the GOTY.
Not worthy of the rants thread. Hardly annoying at all, but still...

I bought the pass recently when it was cheap and was gratified to get the free GOTY edition too.

Life isn't any good crunchy though
I thought we had dedicated threads for these type of disqusitions between fans of peanut butter.

I got the joke. But, I know, you have a very different sense of humour from Owen's, so let's just all live and let live.

(shortened for efficiency)
I recommend Stapelfahrer Klaus.

Is liking a moderator's post with just moderator actions considered PDMA?

Is liking a moderator's post with just moderator actions considered PDMA?
There's a thread in Site Feedback dealing with this. My question was whether or not liking a post that was infracted for trolling would also be considered trolling. There are no timestamps on the "likes" from the pov of the poster doing the "like" (the recipient of the "like" gets a timestamped Alert notification if they have Alerts enabled). Whether it's PDMA depends on how staff defines the word "discussion." Is "liking" a post considered a form of discussing the post?

If you know how certain people interact and their posting history, sometimes it's crystal-clear that it is trolling. Other times it's hard to tell.

Anyway, it might help to read the SF thread.
