*absentmindedly grabs Zkribbler and forces him to sit through Mary's poetry readings*

No spell charms me greater than when your eyes hold mine,
Draw me in closer, my heart will stop time.
My head on your shoulder, your hand in my hair
I don’t long for Heaven, for I’m already there.

On winter’s morn the dawn will come
Though darkest night still shrouds my eyes
So my heart burns as much for yours
Come and be mine here at my side
And as I wait for light and love
Down float the petals of my soul
Laying here gently on my heart
Like tears upon the snow

The day has come the sun is high
And your heart beats in time with mine
For joy of warmth and light and love
Chase off the chills of wintertime
Here in your arms my soul does sing
Your gentle touch of love does show
All your soft kisses on my skin
Like tears upon the snow

Night does fall and once more shall come
The cold and dark and empty heart
For like the sun who now has set
You've gone from me, our souls did part
Long shall I wait for the sunrise
And I dream of you as you go
My spirit lies as broken glass
Like tears upon the snow

My tears upon the snow

I think we may have broken Mary.

It occurs to me that all the poems I like well enough are either comedic or political in nature. Come to think of it, none of them are in English. I'd never really thought about that before.

I’m still drinking my coffee.

There is a point during the day when I am ready to be productive. This is not yet it, but it will come.

One thing though is that if I turn on my computer or watch something on YouTube, that moment will pass where I’ll fall into having kind of a lazy day.

The secret is to avoid those temptations, ride it out, and drink enough coffee to get my cylinders running.

It’s 9:39 here now. I suspect I will reach optimum capacity around 10:15, at which point I will commence housework.

Not sure why everywhere I go there has to be someone on the floor above or below who sleeps at insane hours, thus making it difficult for me to sleep due to the noise they make after midnight.
Maybe I am followed by the CIA or something. Or luck of the draw, with hyper-old people and their complete lack of care for sound pollution.
This time it's (mostly) the stupid squeaking bed they have on the floor above. Would be too much to fix it, of course; after all, how else would I keep track and know that person doesn't sleep during the night? :shake:

That said, my very strong sense of hearing does play a role in this.

Not that I go out of my way to make excessive noise after midnight, but anyone with super-sensitive hearing might find themselves listening to science documentaries on TV or Andean flute music on YouTube (gah, I'm a month and a half behind on watching the weekend Wuauquikuna livestreams).

After wandering into the strange part of Archive of Our Own: why the hell is that even a tag?

A lot of tags for sexual practices I didn't even know existed. Any more would probably get me infracted.

I have a hankering for french toast.

I still haven't quite decided whether YouTube's antics in deleting all my cookies are good or bad. Luckily I remember what music I listen to on it (when I do) so finding it is not difficult: all it requires is the ability to type.

Sitting on a bench outside the central station, waiting for a bus that is reasonably crowded.

This will be a long winter...
I've been wondering if ridership on public transportation will go up around here, too. Lots of people have been bicycling since March-April, but with winter weather coming, people will be looking to other ways of getting around.
