Thanks for playing out the last turns, Sirian. (You can't rush units with a Great Engineer? 
I guess I never actually tested that before, just always assumed that you could!) It's been a privilege to go back and forth on the turns with someone who's even more obsessed with detailed reporting and insane amounts of screenshots than I am! 
I think this will stand as a unique game for a long time. Aside from the fact that it was one of the first (and longest-running) Civ4 Succession Games, we have Sirian's "Spain on a Lake" Hydra start, the "reach" for Pink Dot that worked out so splendidly, the founding a a true powerhouse in Saint Bob, the founding of six of the world's seven religions, endless debates about how much military was "enough" versus "too much" and equally long debates about the merits of Sirian's "black dot" spots, craziness with Spiritual civic and religion swapping, and a final war that engulfed every civ on the planet in the hydra's fiery breath. Not to mention that everyone had to read our bad jokes throughout the thread. I'm sure that that alone was worth the price of admission.
Thanks also to our readers, who helped prod the game along through Sirian's computer upgrading and my end of semester/Christmas week overload of work. Neither of us expected that we would have quite so many readers (over 200,000 views?!), but I'd like to thank you all for stopping by. I hope that we'll see many of you down the road in some of the Realms Beyond events. And who knows? Maybe you will be helping us test Civ5 in a couple of years! You never know what's possible.

Long time reader (well, since I joined), first time poster. Great Game guys, this was a very entertaining read and taught me a lot about Civ4.

I took over 5 hours to read this from start to finish, I can only say thanks for the effort it took to really finish this "Project" of yours.
I'm a newb to the whole Civ world as I just got the game last week.
I have played Moo3 for a few months which I think is kinda like this game in a way ,,sorta ,, maybe ,, I use to love watching the space battles,,,,,,
but anyway this was one of the better game reads I have ever read and I game alot and forum lurk alot and I think alot of peeps here will agree with me there.
Other than the intermission of off topic subjects, and yawn,,, techno-bores,,yawn----- Was awesome hope to read some more or post links were there are more of these quality reads.
Right now its back to my learning curve, woot !
