Seriously, with Christmas on top of us, most of the SGs seem to be taking a week or so off now. On the bright side, this means that we loyal readers can also go on vacation without missing anything!

I've never understood this notion. Wouldn't a simple Monte-Carlo algorithm applied at an early point in the generation of the land forms be enough to generate a specific number of realistic-looking continents?Sirian said:In order to specify an exact number of continents in Custom Continents, each continent has to have its own zone, its own region, and these have to have enough water between them to ensure they don't merge (and produce less than the requested number of actual continents).
If you want more randomnity to relationships between continents, you have to play the normal Continents map script. But then, of course, you can't choose the number of continents. It's one or the other. You can't have both!
