Ah fizz. I crashed on the couch after feeling really bad all day and only just woke up. I haven't played the 'set, and with a drill in PacWar tonight and all this other stuff I want to do, I think it'll have to wait until tomorrow.

I sincerely hope that you are joking. We are impatient only because we enjoy the game, and we have reached a bottleneck where we cannot proceed until you act. Threatening us with cancellation, even in jest, hardly seems appropriate.

Gah. I wasn't entirely serious, but looking at my history it's not entirely a joke either. All my AARs have died shortly after the thread started lambasting me for an update. But I'll drop everything and get that turnset to you now (And that wasn't sarcasm or a guilt attempt, I need to get it out of the way)

Well, we easily took St. Petersburg from the Russians. Of course, then they capitulated to Saladin. And then Saladin attacked us. We've been fighting hordes of crossbows, camel archers, macemen and pikemen in Russia, all while battleing for Ireland.

First the good news: we liberated New Horizons. The bad news: It's in rebellion. We've got to find a solution!

And for even more fun - IT'S ELECTION TIME!

Ok, I think there are a few thing that the next president will need to do and consider.

First, a question for Lighthearter: Who is instigating the rebellion in New Horizons? Is it the Russians, the Irish, or the Russian and Irish fighting each other? This information will affect how we proceed with the issue.

Second: We need to contact the Germans. See if they will allow us to reallocate troops stationed in Germany to go fight the Arabs. Also, see if they are able to lend any aid.

Third: Investigate how the Vikings are feeling about all this. Depending on how the situation goes, we may need their help (though it isn't very likely).

Fourth: Minor point, but we should figure out what to do with the Great People.

I second Celtic's quandry on the Irish revolts. And I recommend trying to bring the Vikings in on our side. The Arabs hold the Buddhist holy city, and I doubt Ragnar is happy that heathens are in control of it. We could pledge to liberate it to Vikingdom if he helps us.

First things first, why did we bother taking St Petersburg? That is going to be bloody annoying to defend and supply if Ragnar or Poland gets angry with us. That obviously pushed Peter to capitulate which was the last thing we needed.

I agree that we need to figure out who is causing the rebellion, but my best guess is Irish Nationalists who want the return of the Khan.

The Russo-Arabian war - it looks like we have a clear tech advantage over Saladin if he is still attacking with Maces and defending with Longbows and Crossbows. Therefore I imagine it would be difficult to secure peace. If it takes attacking and taking Moscow to do it, then that is what we have to do. They will at least support each other rather than a totally isolated St Pete.

The times have been tough for the English nation in the last few years. We have faced strife both at home and abroad, encountered old and new foes but yet our nation still stands tall.

We face a crossroads now, a clear choice. Do we want the established parties to keep control over and over, with no real change and indecisive, unresponsive governments, or do we want to give someone else a try?

The Party to Restore Sanity is the alternative. Under my leadership, I pledge to you that I will represent the silent moderate majority who crave sensible policies and an end to the jingoistic imperialism which has become endemic within the system. We will be a government of responsible and practical policy, rather than simply following principles wherever it may lead.

We will keep you safe and strong, maintaining the glorious history of our nation and bringing us into a position where we can effect changes in the world as a diplomatic leader, rather than simply through military force. We will seek a devolved solution to the Irish question, restoring the Khan as a leader with a much closer co-operation with us. We will also seek a peace summit with Saladin as soon as he is receptive to it, ending this war far from our shores between two major powers who could do more good as friends than enemies.

With these policies, I realise that I may not win the vote. But noone gets to fight an election without speaking to my issues and so I hereby announce my candidacy for President.

It doesn't sound like the Arab forces, at least those we are facing, are really a threat. Even if they outnumber us, we have a huge technological edge. Lighthearter, have we taken many casualties fighting the Arabs?

I know that, mechanically, New Horizons is in "revolt" because we just captured it. Unless there are nuances here, I would just station troops in the city until the riots are quelled.

We need to decide if we want to keep St. Petersburg long-term. It is being overwhelmed by foreign culture, is a long way from our palace, and is not in a good strategic location for us. However, for the time being, it is a good base from which to fight the Arabs. I imagine we'll just have to bleed them until they surrender. I'm not sure if we want to try to conquer and hold territory, though. Greece's presence means that we would have a western and eastern empire split by a foreign power. Of course, I know that many wish to conquer Moscow for the shrine income. Many paths we can travel here.

I also just noticed that the Americas are Christian. Hmm, very interesting.

As far as foreign policy goes, I think we want the Vikings to be friendly neutrals. If they get directly involved, we may have another issue of "joint" conquests. If we're going to conquer, we'll want it all to ourselves. Hmm, if we capture Moscow, and the cities around it, Moscow could be the location of our Forbidden Palace.

In election related news, I am announcing my candidacy for President. I will publish a specific set of policies in a few days, but the Imperial Party is looking for allies who wish to use the current situation to England's advantage. If the Arabs are, in fact, our technological inferiors, this may be a good opportunity to carve up a large, but weaker, adversary.

Ireland now flies the Union Jack. Happy day. Depending on the state of the defenders in Moscow, we could launch a drive to capture it. And now elections are on. I suppose two of the biggest issues this time around will be what to do with Ireland and what to do with the war.


Speaking of Russia, what happened to Catherine? Did she survive?

OKay first of all, i believe TW (twinkletoes) is ineleigible for president due to him being a ONE MAN PARTY ( i may be wrong, he may have a second member, or maybe LH never officially instituted this rule).

Second i formally announce my intention to run for president in these elections, on behalf of the Patriots Coalition.

DT, just so you know, the irish in this game are rioting englishmen from London, whom Cull exiled to Ireland for some stupid, idiotic, reason. It is ENGLISH territory. WHOSIT, i believe that LH means the revolt will continue with in game penalties until its resolved. Hes looking for a roleplay solution.
